Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Macro Help: Repeat the macro for each cursor move
You explanation is somewhat vague.. By breaking it down into individual definitions: Repeating the macro implies that you have a macro in mind.. good start. cursor is a general term referred to the type-in bar, usually a vertical bar (|) or underscore (_). cursor move would then be movement of that type-in bar. However, that would be a problem. By strict definition, the type-in bar doesn't appear unless you are editing the contents of a cell. Either by double-clicking and entering the cell, or clicking inside the content box near the address bar. Then, the implication is that if you use the left-arrow and move one character to the left, the macro would run.. if you insert a character, the macro would run. This isn't possible... Technically, when you select a cell, there is no cursor because you have not begun to edit the contents. However, if instead of cursor move you mean when a cell is SELECTED. Then there are possibilities. You can create a Worksheet_SelectionChange event macro that would execute each time a cell is selected (unless you select the cell which is currently selected in which case the selected cell hasn't changed) in the Event macro, you would then call your previously defined macro. let me know if you need help creating a selectionChange event macro. Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Macro Help: Repeat the macro for each cursor move
Your attachment didn't contain any macros. So, ctrl-m didn't have any affect. I also noticed that you have not ASKED for anything. What you've done is provided a reference. which consists of an excel file with one row and column highlighted in blue. You then instructed us to open your reference, enable macros, and hit ctrl-m and click to see your requirement. You then once again stated that you desire to have this task completed by mouse or keyboard movement. Evidently, this is your way of saying that you don't have any idea what I meant by a SelectionChange event macro, and you'd like someone to make one for you. Based on the limited information, I suspect that you want to highlight the row/column of the currently selected. To this end, I recorded a macro in which I cleared cell highlighting for all cells. Then, highlighted the row/column of the currently active cell. I cleaned up this recorded macro to make it run more efficiently. I then created the sheet selectionchange event, and had it execute the previously created macro. Attached you will find a file in which I have done these things. You'll find the hightlight macro called Highlight_Row_Col in the Mod_Highlight module. the Event macro is in the Sheet1 module and is called Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range) Please note: Event macros must be placed in the worksheet module and only apply to the specific worksheet. That is: If you add a second sheet, this event macro will not execute for changes in that sheet. If you want an event macro to run for ALL worksheets, a SIMILAR event macro (not called the same thing) can be created in the Thisworkbook module. let me know if you have any questions. Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ VBA code to export from excel to word * *
Thanks Ashish Really really grateful for your effort. PDF however will not work for me, i managed to use this code below and its working for me about 95%,, which is ok. the only issue with this code is that after exporting to word, you have to double click it in it for it to preview it in the excel background before you can edit, when i use the paste value option too, it doesnt fit perfectly in the word document. you can try this code and see how it works. really grateful for your help again. thanks Sub exportToWord() Dim SheetName As String, NumLines As Integer Dim WordApp As Object Set WordApp = CreateObject(Word.Application) WordApp.Visible = True Worksheets(SheetName).Range(frontcover).Copy 'you can replace the next line of code with ===WordApp.Documents.Add.Content.Paste WordApp.Documents.Add.Content.PasteSpecial DataType:=wdPasteText Application.CutCopyMode = False Set WordApp = Nothing End Sub On Wed, Oct 17, 2012 at 4:35 PM, ashish koul koul.ash...@gmail.com wrote: [image: Boxbe] https://www.boxbe.com/overview This message is eligible for Automatic Cleanup! Hello Ankit, Attached is a one way. This is not a best one, some one will have better options. I have added two columns. One is Dpmt% 2nd one is No: of Dpmt, which is return through a formula. No:of Dpmt column, MUST NOT be empty or zero. Better to use dynamic range or convert your range to Table. Table format will adjust the No:of Dpmt column when add new entries. ColB 100;200;300;400;500. Anyway, you can use ISNA(MATCH or COUNTIF to check LIST 2 is NOT contains in List. =SUMPRODUCT(ISNA(MATCH(A1:A5,A8:A9,0))+0,B1:B5) Or, =SUMPRODUCT((COUNTIF(A8:A9,A1:A5)=0)+0,B1:B5) Hope this helps, Haseeb -- Join official facebook page of this forum @ https://www.facebook.com/discussexcel FORUM RULES (1120+ members already BANNED for violation) 1) Use concise, accurate thread titles. RE: $$Excel-Macros$$ VBA Code Related Question
Hi Amar, In your attached file, there is no VBA code attached to the worksheet itself, thus there is nothing to copy or move. The VBA code in your file (of which there is a lot) is in various other objects: several standard modules, perhaps 15 or 20 class modules, several userforms, and the ThisWorkbook module. Several ways to copy them: (1) copy the whole file to a new filename (2) Open both this file and the new file, hit ALT-F11 to bring up the VBA editor. Drag and drop the modules you want to your new file (they will be copied). ThisWorkbook cannot be drag and dropped, but you can highlight the code in that module, hit copy (ctrl-c), and paste in the corresponding ThisWorkbook module already in your new file. (3) Export the VBA modules and objects. Right-click each one you want, choose Export File and save it to disc. Then click on the new workbook's project. Right click and select Import File for each module and object you want to import.
