Sure,the VBA version is DATEVALUE()the string must be in a valid date format 
for your Windows version.
So, if when you enter a date in Excel, it is displayed as mm/dd/ 
format,then you need to "build" a string in this format.
like:Sub MakeDate()

    For nRow = 1 To 30
    If (Not IsDate(ActiveSheet.Cells(nRow, "A").Value)) Then
    ActiveSheet.Cells(nRow, "B").Value = DateValue( _

 I need to setup validation for a named range based on the value in say cell 
G5. The rule being as follows: IF cell G5 = 25,000.00 the validation rule is, 
the named range values <=25,000.00. On the other hand if cell G5 = 25,001.00 
the validation rule for the named range is >= 25,000.00. Violation of the rule 
gives a stop and message "Cannot mix large and small invoices." is this doable 
with data validation or vba?  Thanks for any help.

Do you know if the cells contain actual DATES or if they are text strings?
To check: try changing cell format to short date, or General.if they look 
different, then they are true "dates" and you simply have to change the date 
format to what you want to see.
If they are NOT dates, then you need  to use string functions to convert the 
text value to a date value.
Like:
=date(right(A2,4),mid(A2,4,2),left(A2,2))

What array are you talking about?Your file says:"If E2 value is in Array then 
it should reflect in F otherwise count as a not found"
So, since column E is labeled as "id", then I suspect you want to look in an 
array of ID's.The only other ID heading is column "B" which is "Employee Id"But 
those are numeric, while column E is names.
Please give examples of what you want it to look like before and after.
