Hi,

You can also use name range for "*Source Data*" Parameter. I usually prefer
to use this in my reporting if all my input and output data are in same

Hi,

Please find the attached solution. In sheet one I have two validation
lists, which is taking data from Sheet2. Sheet2 has named ranges.
Hope this will help you. With the help of Named Range and Indirect formula
you can do this very easily.

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ How to make Macro Faster Pls Suggest...

2010-11-25 Thread Deepak Rai
Hi Girish,

I was just going through your attached VBA code. I have observed that in
many places your VBA code is using excel formulas. As per my experience the
more you will use excel formula in your spreadsheet it will slow the
performance of your spreadsheet. You can turn the automatic calculation
feature off by the following code :

Private Sub Workbook_Open()
Application.Calculation = xlCalculationManual
End Sub

Hope this will help you.

Deepak Rai

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ how to know the content of a text box of user form

2010-11-11 Thread Deepak Rai
Hi Hiren,

Suppose I have a veriable called Fname now I have to get this
variable's value from a Texbox in a user control. Lets take this Text Box
name as Textbox1 now I will use
Fname = Textbox1.value to populate my Fname variable with the value present
in the Text Box. Textbox1.value is the answer of your question. :)
Hope this example will help you.

Deepak

Hi Peter,

For this you need to have a common folder where you can store all your Data
files after that through VBA macro you can consolidate all those N numbers
of Data files into a consolidated excel file. You would not able to do this
by manual approach.

Re: Fwd: $$Excel-Macros$$ Named Ranges

2010-02-25 Thread Deepak Rai
Hi Harpreet Gujral,

Below is the solution for your query. I have used range B1:B10 for name
"Deepak" in the below code. You can customize the syntax as per your
requirement.

Range("B1:B10").Select
ActiveWorkbook.Names.Add Name:="Deepak", RefersTo:=Range("B1:B10")

Hope this is what you are looking for. Please revert in case it doesn't
work.

Thanks,

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Variable Formula Reference

2010-02-20 Thread Deepak Rai
Hi,

Another easier way of Cell Referencing is that Place "=" sign then click the
source cell in any sheet to set a reference of this source cell.

Thanks,

Re: $$Excel-Macros$$ Relative references

2010-02-08 Thread Deepak Rai
Hi Shiv,

ActiveCell.Offset(1, 0).Range("A1").Select , moves one cell down to the
current cell. Complete syntax is ActiveCell.Offset(rowno,
columnno).Range("A1").Select , for example if u want to move one column from
active cell then u can use
ActiveCell.Offset(0, 1).Range("A1").Select.

I hope this help u in understanding offset method of active cell.

$$Excel-Macros$$ How to use Countif across workbook??

2009-12-21 Thread Deepak Rai
Hi All,

I want to use countif across the workbook. In workbook-1 I have the criteria
& I am using countif in it, in workbook-2 I have the range. When I am using
countif in workbook-1 it is working only when the workbook-2 is opened, when
I close the workbook-2 its not working.
Please suggest any advice or alternative formula for the same. I want to do
it by formula only not by VBA.

Hi,

I am also agree with that. If u want to manipulate Excel by getting data
from Access, U need to be clear about your needs or expectation. For example
I have just created a Staff Database Tool in Excel, which retrives its data
from Access Database. I can help u with codes, if it helps.

2009-11-08 Thread Deepak Rai
Hi Dilip,

Just wanted to know your formula in detail, I tried this formula also
=SUMPRODUCT(($A$1:$A$11=$E$1)*($B$1:$B$11>0)*($B$1:$B$11)) , which is giving
me the same result. I passed two criteria first is A1:A11 = E1 & second one
is value greater then 0. Please explain for my knowledge please.

Deepak

I would suggest to use custom category in the format cells window. In the
Type: option please type "HH:MM:SS" & apply this on the selected cell. Now
whenever u will change the time it will come in HH:MM:SS format.

$$Excel-Macros$$ urgent - How to calculate sum of only positive numbers

2009-08-08 Thread Deepak Rai
Hi Ashish,

Press CTRL+ENTER in the cell because this is an array formula.

Sirjee

One additional help required on ur solved work sheet regarding the problem
by Anilji. Noticed what i feel is strange behaviour.

I use Excel2007. Your formula with {=SUM(IF(E4:E8>0,E4:E8,""))} work fine
but the moment i click to edit on the cell where this formula is entered,
the {} (brackets) disappear even if i dont make any changes and I get an
error on this formula.Copy pasting this formula works fine.

Any idea why this could be?

Thanks

$$Excel-Macros$$ Re: how to hide #N/A

2009-08-08 Thread Deepak Rai

Hi Harris,

You can also use =IFERROR(A1,0) where A1 = #N/A.

Deepak Rai

Hi Harris,

One could also write the formula to be;

=if(isna(A1),0,A1)

A1 is the reference of your Formula, so it could be anything from a
sum to a lookup and so on.

Thanks
Andre

$$Excel-Macros$$ Re: urgent - How to calculate sum of only positive numbers

2009-08-08 Thread Deepak Rai
Hi Anil,

Use this formula for calculating the positive value only in a row:

=SUMIF(B1:D1,">0",B1:D1)

Where B1 = 30 , C2= -20 & D2 = 60.

Hope this will help you.
