Re: Create mailbox Exchange 2010 - Power Shell
I hope I am not accepting a response too quickly... But any comments will be appreciated.. When we enable a use for a mailbox manually using the GUI it works fine. But if we use the same command as mentioned below and enable a mailbox it fails with the error below.. -- The operation couldn't be performed because object ' pri.xyz.com/PAS/Users/mugga' couldn't be found on 'ABC-DC-01.xyz.com'. + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (0:Int32) [Enable-Mailbox], ManagementObjectNotFoundException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : C8486991,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.RecipientTasks.EnableMailbox Enable-Mailbox -Identity 'pri.xyz.com/PAS/Users/mugga' -Alias 'mugga' -Database 'MBX1 DB' -- Can someone please help... RE: Google apps passwords
I thought they offered SAML 2.0 / Shib authentication? Would that not be a better option than syncing passwords to Google? What are other people with AD internally doing to sync passwords to Google apps? The initial password can't be set (subsequent changes can) which seems to be less than ideal. I can't see requiring people to change their password to get it synced up. RE: Can't install Mailbox role on Exc 2010 server
You can also create a new Discovery Search Mailbox by simply running Enable-Mailbox -Discovery. I had to do this after I mistakenly deleted the database containing all the system mailboxes, and had to get them all back :) From: bounce-9536152-8066...@lyris.sunbelt-software.com [mailto:bounce-9536152-8066...@lyris.sunbelt-software.com] On Behalf Of Greg Sweers Sent: 26 July 2012 01:30 To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: Can't install Mailbox role on Exc 2010 server This happened one time for a friend of mine. Re: SP2 schema update
I'm pretty sure it can be applied as part of the service pack or beforehand. You'll need both Schema and Enterprise admin rights. One thing that got me during the installation is that I have a DC in a remote site. After updating the schema, the service pack installation then failed and I had to retry it My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure it was because the schema updates had not replicated out the remote DC. Once I forced that, it went smoothly.* *With one exception unrelated to Exchange itself.
