MDB DATA FOLDER

2002-03-06 Thread Chris McNab

Greetings All

Sorry to sound like a bit of a novice, but each day our Exchange 2000
creates one or more files within //exchsrvr/mdbdata. They are named similar
to E*.txt and are approximately 5MB in size. I can open the files using
NOTEPAD but they just seem to contain jibberish. Can you tell me if these
files can be deleted from time to time and what purpose they serve?

Cheers
Chris

Sending e-mails out of the domain

2002-02-24 Thread Chris McNab

We are running MS Small Business Server (SBS) 2000 and retrieve POP3 mail
from our ISP. We have one employee in a remote office that retrieves their
e-mail from the ISP also. The problem we have is that when someone in the
main office sends an e-mail to the remote office, the exchange server
doesn't let the e-mail out of the local domain. Does anyone know how I
configure the remote office e-mail address so that when someone inside the
domain sends them a message, that it goes straight to the ISP rather than it
staying in the local network?

Thanks
Chris McNab
