SP2 on Front-end/Back-end

2002-05-16 Thread Feng, Sherry

I just updated Exchange 2000 SP2 on my both front/back-end server. After update, when
I create new user MAPI profile on outlook, check name did not work for front-end
server.(no problem with back-end server). I got following error:
"The name could not be resolved. The server containing the Global Address List is no
longer available. You can reconnet to a different server by restarting Outlook or
retry the operation when the server is reachable."

Does this suppose to like that bacause DSProxy is not running on front-end server? or
something wrong on my server?

Thank you very much.

We
have single site, two DCs and all on the same LAN. It looks like every time when

long time to show up. If I just update some attribute on exist account, that

Looking for method to Replicate Exchange 2000 Cluster server

2002-04-18 Thread Feng, Sherry

I am
looking for a tool which can  real-time replicate Exchange 2000 cluster
server to offsite. If disaster happen we can failover. I found Double-take is
good for file server and database server. But it does not support Exchange
2000 now. Geocluster only can do active/passive but my server is active/active
and we like to keep active/active and when hardware fail to be able to failover
at onsite and at same time keep a copy on offsite in case disaster happen we
failover to offsite.

Is
there any other product support this function?

Thank
you for any information or help.

RE: Front-end/Back-end ???

I have just installed front-end/back-end server on my network. I have a
Exchange 2000 machine configured as front-end server with no mailbox and
public store. And I have a cluster server run as back-end server. I
have created additional virtual server on the back-end to make host name
same as front-end server and IP is back-end server's IP. And created all
virtual directory is same as front-end. When I use OWA to access my
mailbox which is homed on back-end server, I always get message "Page

using E2k OWA in a FE/BE environment' Take a look at the document;
it looks like it's broken.

I'm obviously not an IIS expert, but I really don't see a lot of info in

For some reason I just think there is some problem with the virtual
servers and directories on the two servers not matching up or something.
On the front-end, the Public, Exchange, and Exadmin virtual directories
all have the red error icon on them. When you click on any of them you
are met with an error message that reads "Unable to enumerate files and
directories because the following error occurred: The system cannot find
the path specified." Here, it is referring to the M: drive on the
back-end server. I don't have to share this do I?

Everthing looks good in ISM on the back-end (no red error icons)...
