how to add winfax in new menu in MS Outlook 2000 ?

2001-11-14 Thread Freya Jongkind

Hello,

Does anyone know the answer to the following :

We have Winfax Pro v. 10 and MS outlook 2000.
We like to add the option fax to the File-> New menu in outllook,
like you can create a new e-mail, appointment, meeting request, contact,

The result should be that a user can in oultlook choose for a new fax and
that he gets a fax form ,
that will be send( by means of Winfax pro) to a fax number when he clikcs on
send.

Has somebody an idea ??

Thanks in advance,

RE: OL2000 Rules

What
parameter did you changed, that the rule became server based ?

On OL2000
I only could create client based rules.

It gave me
a lot of troublle because it seemed to me that those rules didn’t work.

When I log
on a machine with still OL 97 the rules are standard server based.

Is there a
limit on how many rules you can create ?

Not
really an offending rule, but I was trying to create a new one and was told it
would be client-based only.  I'd rather have it travel with me.  So I
made a modification and now it's server-based.  Was just wondering why the
changing to a different parameter would do this.  William also indicates
there is a 32k limit on serve-based rules - another thing I didn't know.

How to create a distributionlist with external members ?

2001-12-13 Thread Freya Jongkind

Hello,

I want to create a distributionlist in MS Exchange Server 5.5 with persons
working in an other compagny.
e.g. : we = compagnyA they = compagnyB
distributionlist@compagnieA <mailto:distributionlist@compagnieA> with
members user1@compagnyB <mailto:user1@compagnyB> , user2@compagnyB
<mailto:user1@compagnyB> , user3@compagnyB <mailto:user3@compagnyB>

How do I do this , for the moment I can create members with mailboxes in our
domain like user1@compagnyA <mailto:user1@compagnyA> ,
have others distributionlists as a member and recepients as well.
I didn't find any information on it, but perhaps I looked in the wrong
direction.
Can someone help me ???

Thanks

The users that are outside of your company will need to be added to the
Exchange directory as Custom Recipients. Once that is done, you can then
include them in a Distribution List. They should not be added as mailboxes,
if they are not there to catch their mail.

Best practise for change the language template of a user ???

2001-12-19 Thread Freya Jongkind

Hello,

I have a particullar problem due to the historie in our compagny.
All the people in our compagny speak eitehr dutch or french, so in the
beginning of Exchange and Outlook ( 5 years ago), all the people got a
mailbox in dutch or french version. A few years later they changed the
policy and now all the users get a english version(template). So I have
three different language templates.
Because this gives troubles in outlook, I wood like to change those still in
Dutch or French to English.
What should I do ?
I thought of deleting them completely and creating them again, in full
english version?

Because these users needs their data again, I thought of creating a tempory
user,
where I could transfer all the data of the user ( I don' t like export,
because I need to get rid of the body such as calender, mailbox in, send
items, because these are all translated and part of the language
template).
Then delete the user .
And finaly start fresh over with a new mailbox.
When this is ready , I'll copy the old data in this new mailbox.

Is this the way it works , or has anyone better ideas ?

Thanks in advance for help !

Where to find a preview button in outlook ??

2001-10-23 Thread Freya Jongkind

Hello,

Does anyone know how to get a preview button in outlook, I don't mean the
autopreviewbutton.
The button looks like the folderlist button with an extra division of the
right rectangle.
This option should allow you to look to an e-mail without opening it, a kind
of sneaking.

I have a user in who has it it in his viewmenu and as a button is is
outlookbar.
This is not a standard button under outlook 97, nor under outlook 2000.
The oulookhelp doesn't talk about this .

Any ideas ??

Thanks for help.

RE: Where to find a preview button in outlook ??

2001-10-23 Thread Freya Jongkind

THANKS A LOT !!!
This was exactly what I was looking for.
And it works, tomorrow I will be on an other site with Win2000 machine, and
I willhave a look if it is really build in.

If someone know how to add the customize option on the toolbars, it would be
nice.

For the moment I have :

View
Toolbars->
Standard
Remote

For the ones that warned me about viruses comming in that way, thank too,
i'll take into consideration.
I won't give it to all my users, but if some of them have it, I like to
know, how and why.

HTML outlook 2000 outbind printingproblems

2001-10-25 Thread Freya Jongkind

Hello,

We have problems printing e-mails in HTML format under Outlook 2000 on a
HP4100DTN with a Jetdirect 610N.
The e-mail will be send to the printer. In the printerwindow you can see
the e-mail displayed as Outbind://XXX
Where the X is a long row of numbers and letters. This thing
will then block the printer until you manualy deleted the job.
Even deleting the job takes 5 min.

I looked around on the internet and found the following :

Problem with Outlook 2000 printing to HP8150N Printers
<http://www.swynk.com/friends/hobbs/>
Here is a tidbit that will save you hours of frustration and keep you blood
pressure down. According to HP there is an "Official Problem" with Outlook
HTML 2000 printing to the 8150N Printers

http://www.hp.com/cposupport/printers/support_doc/bpl10149.html
<http://www.hp.com/cposupport/printers/support_doc/bpl10149.html>
This effects the 8150s with the J4169A Built in JetDirect cards. There is a
OCR Firmware update from HP.
Print Que Job Characteristics:
NAME="outbind://21-36F21085811BD21187B64549897007001702C5923398D
1118776454989700028CD571702C5923398D111877640"

Which matches the best my problem, but I can't reach the URL that's
indicated.

Can somebody help ??
What this is about ??
Are there other people who had the same problems ??

We found a work around, but its annoying to do it all the time :
You open the HTML email under forward and then you print.
You don't have to forward it really, you can close the forward after
printing.

Thanks in advance for any help.

RE: Need Help ! Mailbox items disappear !!!

2001-10-29 Thread Freya Jongkind

You don't have any batchfiles turning ? Perhaps somebody installed a progame
that goes looking for specifik e-mails older then a certain date and for a
specifik group each nigth. We have such things for cleaning up old stuff.
Gives us more room on the HD's.

I have the same book as Jim, and I use a second one as well (less
programming stuff) :

Using Microsoft Outlook 2000 Special edition by Gordon Padwick, QUE (ISBN

HELP : Spookie or gostlike email in outlook

2002-02-12 Thread Freya Jongkind

Hello,

We have a weird problem.
We have a Exchange server 5.5 and Outlook 97 and outlook 2000 for our users.

Suddenly in some generaly used inboxes such as [EMAIL PROTECTED]
. It is mentionned that there are n e-mails unread
and when you have a look in the inbox you only can see n-1 e-mails in non
read mode. So it looks if there is a "gost" e-mail or a hidden e-mail
somewhere.
>From where can this problem come?
Is there somewhere a countersetting corrupt ? or is het possible that some
e-mails aren't visible ? And why ?
If you select all e-mails and you put them all in non read the difference is
gone, but then you aren't sure if you have seen all the incomming e-mails.

Whenever an e-mail is sent marked Private to any mailbox, they message is
only visible if you have that mailbox open as the primary mailbox in the
profile.Anyone viewing that mailbox as a secondary mailbox (as in the
case with most shared/generic mailboxes) can see that there's an unread
message indicated, but the actual e-mail doesn't show up in the list.
Solution is to create a separate profile for the generic mailbox.

(I can't remember if this is also the case if a message is marked
'confidential')

how to make " private" e-mails visible in a shared mailbox ?

2002-02-14 Thread Freya Jongkind

Hello,

Has anyone solved or found a workaround for the following situation :

We have mailboxes that are treated by more than one person such as orders @
compagny.com and sometimes our clients will send an e-mail with sensitivity
private to such a mailbox.
For sensitivity you need to have the mailbox open as primary mailbox
otherwise you can't see the e-mail.
This gives "ghostlike e-mails because you can see in the folder list that
there are more unread e-mails than you can see in the mailbox.

My question is now how can I set the sensitivity for all e-mails on a
certain mailbox on normal ?

Or is there a possibility to give my users the possibility to see those
e-mails with an extra button ?
Making such a shared mailbox a primary mailbox is not an option because
those users have more then one of such mailboxes.

Thanks in advance for any advice on this subject.
