Move user to new recipient container
Title: Move user to new recipient container I am looking for a way to move a user between recipient containers without exporting mail, deleting the mailbox, creating a new mailbox, importing the mail into the new mailbox and assigning the old X500 address. Is there any way for this to be done through raw mode by changing certain attributes? Searching for this in Technet has brought me nothing, but I suspect it would require just the right wording in a search. If someone has a method, does this work when moving a user between sites also? One was the bridgehead server (mailserver 1)that connected to our parent site. Both contained mailboxes. I recently moved all users to non bridgehead server (mailserver 2). I made mailserver 2 the bridgehead server and almost everything works great. The problem is some users get the following message: Unable to update free/busy data. The contents of this public folder are currently unavailable. Either the Microsoft Exchange Server computer servicing this public folder is down or the public folder has not been replicated to this server. Also, when I try to access some Public folders, my Outlook XP client says it's trying to connect to the former bridgehead. I left the orignal bridgehead listed under sites in exchange admin because I wanted to make sure everything worked properly. Does anyone know what I need to do to resolve this? RE: Exchange 5.5 Test DR
Carol, If you build the DR server as an offline PDC and create a service account with the same username and password as the production service account, you can restore the Information Store, but not the directory. You can then run IS/DS consistency adjuster to create the directory objects to match the mailboxes which were restored. The identical directory hierarchy will have to be in place for the IS/DS adjuster to create the mailboxes. This won't use your production SAM database, so any accounts will have to be created manually.
