Rules wizard - create an e-mail address
In order to consolidate many rules to economize space (users were getting the "unable to store rules on server" message), I am trying to merge rules by modifying an existing rule to check for more than one internet recipient or sender. How can I add a new e-mail address to the list without having it in my address book/GAL/etc.? When I create a new rule directly from a single message (with the create a rule wizard) the new address is there ready to use. When I modify a rule and I type the address after an existing addr (by adding "; [EMAIL PROTECTED]" after it minus the quotes), the address does not seem to be recognized (it's not underlined). The rule doesn't complain but the messages with that address aren't filtered. - Robert List Charter and FAQ at: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/exchange_list_charter.htm
RE: OWA
Nothing yet, I haven't had the time to go back and work on it. I posted the IIS logs for the activity (in a message w/subject Re: Re: OWA), but got no responses and now have been travelling for a while away from the server... I'll research it more when I get back. - Robert -Original Message- From: Garland Mac Neill [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, June 17, 2002 12:26 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: OWA So what fixed the error message? -Original Message----- From: Robert D. I found it (eventually) under Home Directory/Application Settings/Configure/App Options. It doesn't seem to make a difference. RE: OWA
So did you have a work-around? ISA may have a pre-defined rule, but which one? I haven't added any filters apart from one for a NetWare server that wanted NTP... NAV (CE 7.6) hasn't reported a trigger of Nimda, so I don't think it's involved... - Robert -Original Message- From: Carey, Greg [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, June 11, 2002 11:29 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: OWA We ran into that after checkpoint required that we put in an anti-nimda rule into the firewall (even though the requests were blocked by other rules). We were having an issue with a cvp server and they wouldn't even look at it without us having that rule. Basically OWA uses calls that trigger their nimda rule. -Original Message----- From: Robert D. Outlook XP
My understanding is that (only since SP1?) Ex2000 comes with OlXP as an available client, and that your CALs can be used to run OlXP, even without a copy of Office XP. My questions are: Where do you get the copy of OlXP? Does it require "activation" like the whole Office XP suite does? I've avoided XP because we change the machines so much I don't want to have to re-activate the sucker every time. Has anybody used OlXP with the rest of the suite remaining Office 2000? What problems are there? Thanks, - Robert List Charter and FAQ at: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/exchange_list_charter.htm
RE: Backup/Restore using Windows 2000 NTBackup
The main reason to go with the third-party tools is that they usually offer a single-mailbox restore capability. NTBackup and the Win2K backup only backup/restore the entire Exchange Strore, so you have to restore to a different system and extract the one mailbox if that was all you needed to recover. - Robert -Original Message- From: Dan Phan [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, April 17, 2002 9:00 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: Backup/Restore using Windows 2000 NTBackup Hi everyone, I am just wondering if anyone has experience in working with NTBackup that comes with Windows 2000. Does it perform online backup of the Exchange Server 5.5? NTBackup, developed by Veritas (the same people who developed Backup Exec) for Microsoft specs claims that it does "Online Microsoft Exchange Server Protection" both locally or remotely. We have Arcserve 2000 and I am hesitant to use their Exchange Backup Agent because of it is a pain to work with. Any sucessful/unsucessful stories using this tool for backup/restore Exchange Server 5.5 will be greatly appreciated.
