IMS Mailbox Size Limit Warning

2002-01-06 Thread sui seto

Hi Everyone, we have an Exchange Server 5.5 on NT4 which has been running
for 3 years without any problems. Two days ago, when I checked the
Information Store Resoures, I found the mailbox called Internet Mail
Service (Server Name) has a "Issuing Warning" message but the mailbox
actually has "0" Total K, "0" Total no. Items, "0" Total no. Associated
Messages in it. Yet the Storage Limits say "Issue Warning". The NT
account associated with this mailbox is the domain's "Exchgservice". I
just can't figure out why I'm getting this Limits warning. For your
information, the IMS has a 3000K limit on both incoming/outgoing internet
mail which has been set up long time ago. Any information to solving this
problem is appreciated.

RE: IMS Mailbox Size Limit Warning

2002-01-06 Thread sui seto

Hi Martin, the mailbox that has the warning is called Internet Mail
Service. This mailbox does not even appear in the Receipient container.
The NT aaccount to this is mailbox is Exchgservice, this is the servive
acccount used to start the exchange services. Actually, there is a mailbox
for the exchgservice account and this mailbox has a few messages but the
last login and logut time is dated back to 1998. This is a hidden
mailbox..

When I clicked on the properties of the Internet Mail Service mailbox, I
got the configuration page of the IMS where you can configure the message
limit - here I put in 3000K as I mentioned in my original message, and
other specific properties specific to IMS. I also checked MS Knowledge
Base but I did not find anything. In addition, I did not find any message
in the Event Viewer about this. Until now, the Exchange system still
working OK. I am just worrying about will there any bad things happen in
the near future? If not, I can just ignore it for now.

Any idea,

Thanks Martin,

Sui Seto

RE: IMS Mailbox Size Limit Warning

Thanks Karen, I did change the limit back to none in the general tab of
the IMS properties, but it still shows the "issuing warning" message. Yes,
no problems with the email system so far and mails are flowing in and out
normally. Probably as you said, it is a glitch in Exchange and hopefuly
this glitch will not affect the normal operation of the system.

Sui

Automatically send out a standard message

2001-08-14 Thread sui seto

Hi everyone, I am looking for a way to set up auto reply for one mailbox -
the contact mailbox in our website. What I want to do is to send out a
standard message saying something like "we have received your email which
will be dealt with by the appropriate department etc" to any email sent to
us using the contact mailbox. Any easy way to do this or any third party
software that I can buy to do this. I am reluctant to enable Auto Reply in
the IMC. We are using Exchange 5.5 Thanks for your info.

Thanks for your prompt reply. The ISP hosts our website and the Contact is
a mailbox on our Exchnage server. Could you elaborate a bit about your
suggestions?

Thanks again.

RE: Virus - Mass Mailing

2002-06-18 Thread sui seto

Thanks Martin. How about the To field? Will the virus grab the address
from the same address book (randomly) and puts it in the To field?? That
is what I am curios to know. I already asked the user to send me the email
if it has not been deleted.
