AW: 503 Service Unavailable when using OWA

Title: RE: 503 Service Unavailable when using OWA

 - Did this start to occur after a reboot of either of the
servers?
If yes
what had been installed/had been changed in the weeks
before?
-
Firewall between FE/BE? All ports needed opened/verified
(again!)?
-
IIS-Logs?
- To
check out (if not already):

Checked the app log, and rebooted as well. I am thinking something is
up in AD, as I mentioned, I am getting 1000 and 1202 in the App log,
which indicate a group policy fault I posted to sysadmin a few weeks ago, and
still have not had the courage to fix. I don't know that it is related as OWA
  was working on Monday.

Anything in the app event log?

Try reboot?

  sp2?

E2K W2K both SP2, one front end E2K, one back
TechNet states that this could be one of three things as
far as I am able to determine: there is an app mapping for the Virtual
Directory in IIS to davex.dll (not the case here), if the back end server
IS is dismounted (not the case here), or if there is a comms problems
between the two mail servers, but I can telnet from one server to the
other on Port 25 and vice versa.
No errors in the event logs aside from 1000 and 1202 in
the app log, and these are to do with a group policy issue.
  Ideas? Suggestions?
