How
does exchange store the exchange folder views? Arn't these stored in
'special' messages (of some sort) in the actual mailbox. If this is the
case, this is where the space/message count could be.

  I am
running Exchange 5.5 (SP4) with OWA. When I open the administrator
console and look at the Private Information Store-Mailbox resources, I see
mailboxes with items in them, but when I try to retrieve the mail in those
mailboxes (either through OWA or standard POP), the mailboxes appear to be

Nope. All items, (deleted items, contacts, appointments, sent items are all stored in
the local .pst file in Outlook.

No sent items? Deleted items folder is empty? No contacts or appointments? They all
suck up space.

Subject: Mailbox resources in an empty Mailbox??

I hope one of you mavens out there can answer this question.

I am running Exchange 5.5 (SP4) with OWA. When I open the administrator console and
look at the Private Information Store-Mailbox resources, I see mailboxes with items in
them, but when I try to retrieve the mail in those mailboxes (either through OWA or
standard POP), the mailboxes appear to be empty. For example, one mailbox shows 4
items and 14K total resources, but when I try to read the mail from that mailbox, it
shows as empty.

What is happening here? Is there any way (as the administrator) to examine those
mailboxes and the supposed mail items?

Thanks in advance.
