RE: Public Folder Alerts
The script uses a particular event which only fires if a new item is created in that folder. If using Outlook with the Exchange provider (no IMAP or OWA) you should be able to fire up such a notification if you hook into the change event. Unfortunately I don't have the specific name of the event handy and it's been about two years when I did such 5.5 stuff. But you should be able to find it on MSDN IIRC. > -Original Message- > From: Steve Heynes [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Tuesday, July 02, 2002 4:39 PM > To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues > Subject: Public Folder Alerts > > I have installed the script from http://www.cdolive.com/code.htm which > sends an alert to a distribution list when a new message is posted in a > Public Folder. Public Folder Alerts
I have installed the script from http://www.cdolive.com/code.htm which sends an alert to a distribution list when a new message is posted in a Public Folder. New postings work fine but if a reply or forward occurs, the script does not work. Hopefully someone out there has experienced this before and come up with an answer. Help!! RE: Third party tool for public folder alerts
This might be configurable for you. http://www.cdolive.com/pfalert.htm Otherwise, if it exists, it would be somewhere at www.slipstick.com William Lefkovics, MCSE, A+ -Original Message- From: Bell, Stephen [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, November 08, 2001 2:20 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: Third party tool for public folder alerts Does anyone know of a third party add-on to Exchange 5.5 (or Exchange 2000) that will send reminders when using a public folder? The exact sequence would be something like this. Users input appointments into a public folder calendar. Then (on a pre-determined schedule) Exchange would send a reminder when this is getting near to selected individuals? Of course when the appt. was created the timing and individuals would have to be given... The would allow centralized appt calendars, but still send out notifications to selected folks... Thanks!
