RE: BB's keep hard deleting Outlook Contacts
Are you certain that you are running the most recent release of BES? And I'd recommend an update to 2010 SP2 UR1. From: Binner, Lori A [mailto:lbin...@jjkeller.com] Sent: Thursday, March 08, 2012 2:00 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: BB's keep hard deleting Outlook Contacts Hello- We have a new MS Exchange 2010 SP1 system and new BES 5.0 server...about 100 devices syncing. We set-up our users to sync both their regular Outlook contacts folder and also a Blackberry contacts folder. For some reason, the contacts in the Blackberry book seem to be getting hard deleted from the device and/or BES? And then, they get hard deleted in their Outlook client. We go to the Recoverable items Folder and move them back, but now it has happened again. Our contacts are set not to purge on the Exchange system and we do not see anything on the BES default policy that would cause this. Perhaps we're missing a setting somewhere? Has anyone else seen this happen and know what we may look at? Thanks, Lori This electronic communication may contain confidential information. Michael, A while back you posted on your blog how to install SP2 for Exchange 2010. With the addition of UR1, how does that fall into the procedure? From: Michael B. RE: BB's keep hard deleting Outlook Contacts
Put the update here, replacing the setup.com or setup.exe. Finally, apply the service pack. From a cmd.exe prompt: setup.com /m:upgrade From setup.exe, simply double-click the setup.exe executable and follow the bouncing ball. Next, I recommend a reboot of the server. Just because I'm old school.
