Should there be an issue with simply unplugging the cable, rerunning it and plugging it back in without shutting down the services? I realize that the users will not be able to connect while it is unplugged but downtime is much less with just unplug and replug than shutdown and restart. RE: Ethernet cable
Title: RE: Ethernet cable I just tested that theory. I unplugged the server for about 20 minutes, and then plugged it back in. I had a lot of users state that they lost important archived emails that were in OST and PST files. As per an earlier thread, those are BAAAD, and an unplugged CAT5 is just another reason why. heehee -Original Message- From: Clark, Steve [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, May 01, 2002 2:42 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: Ethernet cable No - go for long lunch.
