I know SP2 has been out for a while, is there any reason not to upgrade?
Looks like I need to expand the schema first!

the schema expansion has been the #1 blocker for sp2 deployments.

there are no "new issues" that i am aware of introduced by sp2. the world-wide
interwebs have been very quiet on that front...

Read the release notes. The issues that most folks have run into are well
documented in the release notes, and they would've saved themselves much
hassle...

Hello all -

We're getting ready to update our org to E2k7 SP2. I just wanted to ask all the
experts if there were any gotchas you all ran into, or any tips you'd like to
pass on. We do have a BES server in the mix - 6.1.4, IIRC. My boss said he'd
heard of some issues on CAS servers, anyone seen anything like that?

Thanks all...

So has anyone installed SP2? Maybe I should hold out a month or two and wait
to see what the fall out is.

Thanks,
Andy

I would recommend that you upgrade the CAS/Hubs first. I would also recommend
that you read this blog article from the Exchange team before deploying SP2.

http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2009/06/12/451596.aspx

We are not upgrading to SP2 yet since we also use an archiving product which is
currently "Pending" support of their product used with this Exchange SP
version. I suspect it is related to the named property changes referenced in
the above article.

Thanks,
   Peter Dahl.

We have an Exchange 2007 environment with a CCR cluster and two CAS/HUBs. I
want to apply SP2. I have the procedure for the Cluster but I was wondering if
should I apply the service pack to CAS/HUBS first, or after I apply it the
Mailbox CCR cluster?

Has anyone upgraded to SP2 yet? Any issues?

Thanks,
Andy

In addition to what Peter said, always ensure that you read the release
notes for updates and service packs. The deployment order is clearly listed
in the release notes for SP2.
