Custom coding. Not too difficult in 5.5. -Original Message- From: Ken Leyba [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, March 14, 2002 10:21 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: Outlook Web Access Sent Items I have a user that wants to display the To: field in OWA instead of the From: field. Doh! Sorry. Windows 2000/Exchange 5.5 SP3. One user says that her default view has the To: field but the user that is complaining, and mine too by the way, shows the From: field in the Sent Items folder. - Ken Leyba Windows/Exchange System Administrator California State University Dominguez Hills -Original Message- From: David N Precht [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, March 14, 2002 10:41 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: Outlook Web Access Sent Items What version of Exchange ? That's the default view. I wouldn't know how to change it. Obviously you would need to do some coding. -Original Message- From: Ken Leyba [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, March 14, 2002 1:17 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: Outlook Web Access Sent Items Doh! RE: Outlook Web Access Sent Items
The thing that bugs me is the user who says that when she logs into OWA it shows the To: field in the Sent Items folder. I'll have to wait until she gets back Tuesday to look at it. I wasn't sure if I was missing some setting to be able to change this. - Ken Leyba Windows/Exchange System Administrator California State University Dominguez Hills -Original Message- From: Martin Blackstone [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, March 14, 2002 1:30 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: Outlook Web Access Sent Items That's the default view. RE: Outlook Web Access Sent Items
Here's the deal: OWA (5.5 definitely and IMHO 2000 also) can use the views created with Outlook under a particular special circumstance. That is: If you create a new view with Outlook as This folder visible to everyone and have the setting Automatically generate Microsoft Exchange views on the folder properties enabled (default) the view will be, maybe with some delay, available in OWA. My guess is now that those of your clients who see the Sent Items view have modified their own Sent Items view with Outlook (maybe only changed the column size). Why would this cause OWA to show such a view? The point is that the Sent Items view shown in Outlook actually isn't a built-in Outlook view. It is a view *created* by Outlook on your Sent Items folder. This Sent Items view is actually a view of the type This folder visible to everyone and you can see that it if you look at the folder Properties|Administration tab and open the dropdown list. You'll see Sent Items listed there. This dropdown only lists view of the type This folder visible to everyone. Makes sense?
