As a side note, mail.rootcandles.com does have records, but since you
decided not to use that, the point is moot.

Is 'rootcandles.com' your domain name? If so, your mail server has got to be
called something else; ie, exactly as you had it, 'mail.rootcandles.com'. In and
of itself that's not a problem - the mail address is defined by the properties
of the recipient, not the fqdn of the mail server.

I did an NS lookup on your domain name and found 0 MX records
You also don't appear to have an A record either.

Your DNS is not configured correctly, if at all
