Two domains one exchange server
I am attempting to connect users that log into a domain controlled by a 2000 server to a 5.5 Exchange server hosted on NT. There is a one way trust between the 2K domain and the NT domain. You can create a mailbox in Exchange and make the user of the 2K domain the owner. However, when you try to connect to it from the 2K domain, you are prompted for a username and password. Nothing I enter creates the connection. What am I missing? Michael List Charter and FAQ at: http://www.sunbelt-software.com/exchange_list_charter.htm
Two Domains One Exchange Server
Does anyone have any documentation on how to setup Two Domains with one Exchange Server. Company A and Company B Merged. Both are Windows 2003 A/D. There is an External Trust relationship between the two Domains. Now Company A is installing an Exchange Server and Company B doesn't want to buy there own. How do we give access to Company B users? Thanks in advance. OK, but I thought I'd check, you never know. :-) What you're trying to do does work, but obviously something's amiss. Have you tried ruling out Exchange? E.g. does the trust allow access to other things? RE: Two domains one exchange server
Title: Message I think your trust is the wrong way. You should look at a two-way trust, because in order for you to add the users from domainA/ex5.5 you need domainB/win2k to be trusting it to list the users. Then you need domainB/win2k to be trustED by domainA/ex5.5 in order to pass the security permissions. You also may want to look at using ADC as well since both ex5.5 and AD uses ldap ports you may have some issues there. In a mixed (win2k/ex55) enviornment (same domain however) you need to run ADC and move ldap off its default port (389) in the ex5.5 so they dont conflict.. -Original Message-From: Andy Cottrell [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, February 19, 2002 11:11 AMTo: MS-Exchange Admin IssuesSubject: RE: Two domains one exchange server Are you entering the username as Domain\Username? -Original Message- From: Duebner, Michael [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, January 30, 2002 9:52 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: Two domains one exchange server I am attempting to connect users that log into a domain controlled by a 2000 server to a 5.5 Exchange server hosted on NT. I think you want to utilize an Exchange Resource domain to host email: http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/planni ng-architecture/deploying-exchange-resource-forest-part1.html This might not be the right Exchange version for you but it should point you in the right direction. mb From: Lynden A.
