[expert] LCD Flatscreen Setup Problem
Hi, I have a Princeton APP520 15" LCD FlatScreen. I can't get it to stop flickering despite trying many Frequency settings in the XF86Config file. The screen does not flicker when I switch over to Windurz. Is there a trick to these screens? Re: [Re: [expert] Verizon/GTE DSL and Mandrake]
I'm using the same here and it's been reliable so far for the last couple of years. From what I've seen, AT&T cable has been a bit short of reliable. [expert] ALSA and MpegTV Problem - Please Help
Hello All, I just switched over from the crappy OpenSound commercial sound driver to the ALSA sounddriver for my Yamaha PCI soundcard. The only problem now is that MpegTV tells me "Cannot Play Audio: Broken Pipe". Have any of you had success with getting MpegTV to work with ALSA? Re: [Re: [expert] 2.2.17 Kernel - Automount Feature Missing]
Thanks for your help. I got rid of 2.2.17 and compiled 2.2.16 with success. It had the soundcard driver (RealTek) I needed. brent Stephen Bosch <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Brent: On 8 Sep 2000, Brent Hawkins wrote: > I just compiled Kernel 2.2.17 and found that xconfig had some features grayed > out (like some network cards). 2.2.17 isn't an official kernel patch (i.e., it's a Mandrake patch -- I should add also that it is a bit buggy... I had problems with panics and crashes until I compiled 2.2.16 from kernel.org). Xconfig will have things greyed out if you disable "experimental" code. This is set very early in the config process (first three or so feature groups). > Also, despite selecting "automount", it still > won't handle supermount. If supermount won't work it's likely that you missed something in your configuration -- is automount part of the kernel, or did you compile it as a module? Is it dependent on any other modules or kernel features? Take a close look... and read the help information for the automount feature. It's easy to miss things when you are configuring a kernel for compilation. I've inadvertently introduced many problems when I wasn't careful about my configuration. What always works for me is a slow and steady approach, taking care to look through each feature group and making sure I know exactly why I am setting something a certain way. [expert] 2.2.17 Kernel - Automount Feature Missing
I just compiled Kernel 2.2.17 and found that xconfig had some features grayed out (like some network cards). Also, despite selecting "automount", it still won't handle supermount. Am I missing a step somewhere or is this kernel have those problems?
