[expert] Anti-Virus for Linux
This may be a stupid question, but are there any anti-virus programs avalible for Linux? I've looked but never found any and never seem to even hear mention of any. Is it necessary? If not, why? Thanks. Jason
RE: [expert] HP drivers/Outlook
We do have the web access. However, Netscape isn't always stable with it and I lose some functionality. Thanks. Jason -Original Message- From: Brian T. Jason Also, if your employer has it set up, the Microsoft Outlook Web Access is really nice, and runs just great under Netscape. Your employer would, however, have to have a server set up. It's worth looking into, though. RE: [expert] Linux PDA ??
The June/July 2000 edittion of Maximum Linux magazine has an article about PDA's and they mention that a subsidy of Samsung has one. Gmate (http://www.gmate.co.kr) makes Yopy, whcih is designed from the ground-up for Linux. The picture and info I have of it is pretty impressive. Maximum Linux has an entire article (2nd in a series) this month about choosing PDA's. RE: [expert] Problems with LILO
I'm running Win98, WinNT, and Mandrake 6.0 on my machine, and LILO works fine with all of them. The only possible difference is that I installed NT after LILO. Jason -Original Message- From: John Aldrich [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, February 02, 2000 14:43 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [expert] Problems with LILO On Tue, 01 Feb 2000, you wrote: I just finished installing Mandrake 7.0 and LILO won't work. Here is the description of the environment: there are two HDD: the first one already had Windows NT working, so I added a second HDD for Linux exclusively. The second HDD is the master device in the secondary IDE When the Installation asked me about LILO and where to put it, I consulted the HOWTO document on installation and found that they recommend: Windows NT is present on my computer IIRC, NT bootloader won't work (without some tweaking) with LILO. Go take a look at www.mandrakeuser.org. I seem to recall hearing that there was information there on how to "hack" the NT boot loader to let you use LILO. John
