I believe that only applies to Voodoo 3 chipsets. [expert] 3Dfx OpenGL acceleration breaks after changing resolutions, and doesn't come back.
My Open GL hardware acceleration breaks after I use the Drak tool to change resolutions. Particulars - Abit BP6 dual Celeron 433 motherboard. 20 GB IDE drive not running on the UDMA66 controller. 96 MB ram PC100 Voodoo Banshee Diamond Fusion 16 MB PCI Mandrake 7.2 download version, 2 disk developer install, all options. Initial X config is XFree86 4.0x (It doesn't give me a choice) at 16bit, 800x600. Everything actually works pretty well after a fresh install using this config. All the OpenGL games work great, getting 30-90 frames a second both full screen and windowed. As soon as I change resolutions, it stops working. This wouldn't bother me very much, but it doesn't start working again when I change the resolution and color depth back to 16bit, 800x600. Any ideas on this? Oh yeah, if I set the resolution to 32bit, 1280x1024, the way I like it, during the install, OpenGL acceleration never works, no matter what other color depth/resolutions I try. I'm reinstalling right now, and I am going to copy the working XF86Config file before I try anything else.
