If the RPM is already on your system, a simple rpm -q --whatprovides
path_to_given_file  works.

If the RPM is not installed, I usually just go to www.rpmfind.net and
type in the program I'm looking for.  rpmfind.net does a pretty good job
of finding the RPM I need, even for libs.

Thanks for the replies re: PCAnywhere.  Will check out Wine and see if it works.

Next question: I just installed 8.2beta on a machine.  Where is HDPARM?  Isn't that a 
program that comes with the kernel?

It would be really nice to have some searchable database that you could scan to find

IIRC, that has an rpm all its own and should have been installed by default. 
IF not, the one from 8.1 _should_ be OK.
