Pretty much any Matrox card will work beautifully in any flavor of Linux! I have a G-450 (AGP) and love it Brian D. David , I have successfully setup a 2mg pci s3 trio and an 4mg ati 3d rageIIc agp card in Lm 8.2 , but I had to setup xfree86 a second time before I could even see anything. You've probably already read that thread about it not seting itself up completely the first time , right? I have found many , many things that don't work properly yet in 8.2 so I run 8.0 most of the time, because everything is absolutely perfect for me - Your Mileage May(will)Vary. If 7.2 works for you or say even 8.0 why not stick with it? I probably will as I am very disappointed with 8.2 :-( Mike McNeese Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? Anything by Nvidia works fine for me. Ati I hear is good too. except there is still no S-Video out support from ATI in linux, thats probably some macrovision licencing arguments? Apparently the ati.2 driver works, but thats not out the box with xfree86 4.2.0 i think. Has anyone had any luck with nvidia cards s-video out? I have not had chance to test those yet. ATI are pretty well supported, as long as you don't go onto the latest card (bleeding edge stuff). nVidia if you don't mind the proprietary driver hassles. As for me, I'm using a 3dfx Voodoo 3000 with (accelerated) XFree 4.2 just fine -- john in sydney = Mandrake Linux 8.2 Kernel version: 2.4.17-5mdk Uptime: 20 hours 33 minutes = Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft?
