I'm using the xterm that came with XFree86-3.3.6-4mdk
I'm running 7.0 with kernel 2.2.16-mdksecure and I have added all of the
relevant updates.

It's not specific to xterm though - here's what happens if I use perl.

[tony@blast tony]$ perl
perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
LANGUAGE = "en",
LC_ALL = "en_GB",
LANG = "en"
are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").

Tony

What xterm are you using? Are you using it from 7.0, or did you
upgrade it to cooker? We have noticed problems using xterm built for
XF4 with XF3... could that be it? I've tried this a few times myself
and have absolutely no problem with the new glibc...

Sorry Vincent, it's still happening. Here's what I get when I start an
xterm:

Warning: locale not supported by C library, locale unchanged

Looks like it needs a bit more work. My env contains:

LC_ALL=en_GB
LINGUAS=en_GB:en

Thanks,

Tony

FYI... I just tried 16mdk on a 6.0 system and didn't experience any
problems, so please let me know if you still do on your 7.0 system.

Tony, please let me know how it goes. If there is a problem with
16mdk, we need to know and get it fixed ASAP. I'm going to be testing
it here as well, so I'll see if I can reproduce your error.

Thanks Vincent, it was 14mdk, and I've just received the announcement about
16mdk. I'll give it a go.

Which glibc? 14mdk or 16mdk? An update was done today which put 7.0
up to 16mdk... Please let me know which one you tried, and if it was
not 16mdk, please try it.
