I uninstalled all old rpms and then installed the new one and i'm happy now :) Umm. A couple initial problems I discovered. For 1 I can't find the theme manager. Second there are intermitten probs logging in and out. I did find that if I moved out the .kde directory that these problems went away. Also, the bookmark manager and tool bar doesn't work for konquorer. I tried importing my netscape bookmarks and the bookmarks toolbar won't even show up. Well, you're right. I can't find the thememanager too :( But I have no problems logging in and out, but I haven't done that many time today... so, I can't say much to that. I don't have any problems with my bookmarks and the bookmark manager also works fine... Did you uninstall the old rpms before installing the new ones? I had problems once I did it without installing the old ones... so long, Timo Keep in touch with http://mandrakeforum.com: Subscribe the "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" mailing list.
Re: [expert] KDE 2.0.1 Konqueror
Yes, I have tried them and they blew out my sound installation (ie it does not work right now). I'm running the 2.4.0-test12 kernel and the sound module is compiled into the kernel. When I check the configuration, the sblive sound card is properly recognized by the system (ie the configuration program gives the correct info on the card) and that's it. also screwed up the menus and update-menus did not help at all. had to delete most of the tool bar icons and install them newly. tom berkley Sheldon Lee Wen wrote: Has anyone tried these? I had the 20001210 rpms installed, everything was fine 'cept kdm was broke. With the latest 20001213 rpms (2.1b1), I put them all in a dir by themselves and did 'rpm -Uvh *'. .and got error: failed dependencies: libkscan.so.1 is needed by kdeaddutils-2.1-0.20001213.1mdk Since I had the 20001210 version of this rpm installed, I just moved the kdeaddutils rpm out of the dir and installed all the rest. As with every KDE upgrade I've done, I then ran 'update-menus -v' to restore menus and icons. Everything's fine, the system is very stable, kdm is fixed. I've noticed with KDE2 that from 1.94 to 2.01, when there's already a lot of apps running on several desktops, it took longer and longer to start another app. This situation has improved quite a bit with the last two 2.1 upgrades. With this last 2.1 upgrade I no longer consider this to be an iritation. I really appreciate the time and efforts by Chris Molnar to provide these non-cooker, 7.2 compatible KDE2 upgrades.
