Re: [expert] Please fix multiple address system!

2001-06-27 Thread Pierre Fortin

Don't waste your time asking... this has been a problem for MANY months...
there have been some tweaks to the mailer; but this behaviour resists
resolution.

The workaround is to send individual messages to each list.

Benjamin,

I'm curious -- I received two copies of your message "Linux
Fragmentation -- Is the Unthinkable already here?" which seems
appropriate since I am subscribed to both the newbie and expert list and
you sent the message to both lists.

Is this different than the behavior you are seeing, or are we talking
about different subjects?

You are rightdave, I overlooked that. I do not have "digest"

Bob is talking specifically about the *digest* version of the list. My
"reply-to's" work fine, but I *don't* get the digest version. Is there
anyone here with the digest version with the same problem as Bob? I may
be wrong, but I'm assuming that Viktor didn't catch the *digest* aspect
of Bob's complaint. If I'm wrong, Viktor, please accept my apologies.

I have found that sometimes (I have not looked as to why) that the
reply-to on this list sometimes defaults to the list, or often to the
original poster of the message. This is the only list I know of that
does this. It seems that the dulpicate message problem has been fixed
(well, I havent had anywhere near the number of dups as before) so maybe
the list manager could look into this as well.

This is a *REPLY* to your message. It goes to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] I think your email client does not
handles that correctly...FYI, I use mutt under LM7.2.

Very sorry!
I'm a real beginner in sendmail configuration and I think I could done some
mistakes. I work in linux behind a firewall and my mail address comes from a
linux machine outside the firewall that is not configured by me.
So I have to understand which machine is creating the traffic.
Could you help me?
I suppose that it's not me generating the noise (my machine has address
10.0.20.64 internal) but the external server (www.ismaa.it) that is administered
by my organization.
Can you reply me the anti-spam reply?
Could you tell me from which machine these messages are coming from?

Thanks and sorry again!
