Are there any "local meditators" around Avon Park to
really care? I'm in south florida and there are not
really many "local meditators" that really care about
the TMO.

If anything epitomizes the Veda since puritanical elements took over, it's
the performance of yagyas for money rather than doing things for yourself.
Hire someone else to do it for you. Another element that epitomizes Vedic
thinking is adherence to a caste system. One of it's primary elements is
adamant disallowing of intermarriage between castes. Exogamy is the chief
way that differences, esp. in IQ, change: by intermarriage. So therefore
restricting intermarriage, keeps the caste system going and humans locked
into certain "slots".

It seems to me we're just seeing the same old pattern over again. It's just
a further extension of racism. After all 'who you gonna get to do the dirty
work, when all the slaves are free'?

Adherence to a Vedic lifestyle assures that there will always be an
underclass and a ready number of people we can treat like slaves. American
policy is somewhat different but achieves the same thing--we just keep our
southern border loose and a steady flow of the new slaves just pours in like
magic. It's the new yagya I guess.

I believe it was some oil-related company that occupies most of the
building. They probably own the building and just allow the TMO to use a few
rooms.

That's true. (But I was unclear). I just don't think that the money
from the sale will be available for a new place unless someone local
has retained legal control. And that hasn't happened very often. Boone
is the only place that I can think of...

2005-09-18 Thread Jason Spock

Hari Om,
According to the Vedic Philosophy, there are only 4 varnas.  These 4 Varnas are basicaly determined by the predominance of the 3 gunas.

Look up at Swami Chidbavananda's commentary on Gita [Ramakrishna Mission]

A person who has predominantly Tamas guna is a Sudra and should be give particular duties in society.

A person who has predominantly Rajas guna is a Vaishya and should be given particular duties in society.

A person who has predominantly Satwa guna is a Kshtriya and should be given particular duties in society.

And a person who has Trancended the three gunas is a Brahmana.

The three Varnas are not rigid and are interchangable. Sage Vishvamitra was born kshtriya, but became a  sage. etc

A new anon here.
Just wanted to comment that the West Coast of Florida, specifically
Tampa, has a very strong TM community with lots of cash to support
projects.

Rick, If this exchange is indeed correct, Mr. Pall has no place on
this forum. There would seem to be an enormous distance between open
exchange and the blatant, crass, diminished view of life he
demonstrates above.

Mr. PallÕs views are well known, most avoid them like something
scraped off the bottom of a shoe. Ignoring his posts, as most do,
seems not only unproductive but a tacit acceptance of his right to

Tom,

You mean to write "you're not ashamed" not "your not ashamed".
"You're" is the contraction for "you are".

Although maybe you were purposefully writing in a white trash manner
to highlight the ignorance of that type of thinking.

Private emails, no matter how repugnant, aren't really something that
PROPER people use to base decisions on if they aren't addressed to

Tom is one of those unusual flowers that pops up in
the garden of life from time to time that makes you
say,, "WHAT THE F*CK?" You can't let a guy like that
get your goat. His racial comments are just absurd.
Perhaps bostonbob should have responded to the
rhetorical question about his sister with an
affirmative. You defang someone by making a parody of
their seriousness. Tom obviously has some pretty
serious problems.

Hi there Dr. Pete,

I USED to be from there. Also USED to live in your area, so am
familiar with the TM OPS in both.

Tampa has always had a very strong center. Their strength is in
their sidha population. Lots of cash and power. They run the show.
As in the rest of the movement, money rules.

Good to know, also, that there is an independent teacher on both
coasts. They both are excellent if anyone wants a referral.

Ironic, because last year when Tom came to Iowa from Kansas City to see
Amma, he brought a black friend who had been a crack addict and a prison
inmate. Tom very obviously liked the guy and was concerned about his welfare
and recovery.

I would ban anyone who made a comment like that on this forum, but that
comment was made in a private email to Bob, and Bob posted it here just to

Ah yes, quite evident. Proving again the danger of entering this forum

Not really making sense. Anon talking enthusiastically about strong
local TMO, and enthusiastically pushing the indies. What exactly
comprises a strong local center. I know there may be strong
comraderie among local sidhas, but that is different than a strong

Sorry Lurk,

I didn't mean to be enthusiastic about the local center. I am not.
The Tampa center is owned and run by the sidhas. Weird, I know.
There's probably nowhere else that this exists. The sidhas are rich
and hold all the power. And many seem to be into the current 'nazi-
like' TMO regime.

I totally support the activities of the independent teachers who are
forced to teach outside the center.

Does this make sense?

Gents, the exchange in question was post #73192. I incorrectly assumed
it was taking place on this forum. I have responded to our moderator
indicating my role in this tragic misunderstanding. I am at present
fashioning a garment of thorns, which I plan on wearing indefinitely.

But more to the point, it looks like someone else wrote the top part
and Bush is writing the second part to ask "is this possible?", as if
trying to accomplish the request of the notewriter.

On the other hand, if Reuters committed some degree of fakery, if they
manipulated this photo, THAT might be a story, because it indicates
that a major news organization is willing to create "fake but
accurate" photographs in order to encourage disrespect toward the
President.

I think Michelle Malkin is right to imply that Bush Derangement
Syndrome has gotten the better of somebody at Reuters. This photo will
do more damage to Reuters's reputation than to Bush's.

Hate. But Bush hatred was not enough to beat Bush in 2004--while

Yea, thanks for clarification. Not to go on and on, but are you
saying that the local center is run by "sidhas" - meaning "citizen
sidhas", or former "governors", or by recerts? And are you saying
that even though the center is run and owned by individuals who,
although, they have no formal or legal ties to the Nat'l TMO, they
emulate the typical power structure, that so many of us find
offensive? Just some Sunday afternoon musings. Thanks,

As you know--because I quoted the NY Post story in
the same post you're responding to--Condi Rice was
shown the photo of the note and confirmed the note
was authentic. Why do you continue to try to cast
doubt on it when you're well aware there is no doubt?

Same thing here. The only "manipulation" that
occurred was toning down the white background, which
was overexposed. This was *also* in the post you're
responding to.

Only among the wingnuts who have trouble dealing
with reality. Most folks--including Condi Rice--
just got a giggle out of it.

Hard to beat somebody whose friends manufacture and can rig the voting

after his brother's appointee has prevented large numbers of blacks from

Dear Lurk,

Oh dear. We seem to have reached the end of my knowledge of what is
going on in Tampa. I haven't been there in a few years, so my
current info just comes from local sources there. From what I know,
the local siddhas do 'emulate the typical power structure that so
many of us find offensive'. Not all the local sidhas, but enough of
them to take control of things. There seems to be a great deal of
rigidity, yes. Truth is, I don't know if there is a teacher there
in the official center right now. I'm not sure if the local sidhas
have been able to attract anyone willing to follow their rules.

This group has given MAJOR support to Avon Park, so it will be
interesting to see what happens there. As Rick said, it would be
fascinating to 'follow the money' here.

Subject: Inside the Jyotirmath
From: willytex
Date: 13 Sep 2005

According to the medical records, as described in the official
biography of Swami Brahmanand Saraswati, Guru Dev died of natural
causes. Just before Swamiji passed away, he summoned his foremost
chela, Bal Bramacharya Mahesh, who had been waiting just outside in
the hall, and handed him a full set of written instructions concerning
the administration of his entire estate. Guru Dev then told Mahesh, in
front of three others:

"My dearest Mahesh, please put this old bag of bones, [pointing at his
chest], inside a trunk, with this body sitting upright in this high
chair, [pointing at his chair], and toss it into the Ganges river
[makes dumping gesture]. Then, Bal, you should arrange my affairs and
then go to the Himalayas, hide inside a cave at the Upper Kashi and
meditate day and night, just like I have instructed you. Don't come
down from the mountain until you'e developed a plan to spiritually
regenerate the whole world. Use the simple system of meditation that I
have taught you - remember to keep the teaching pure, just as I have."

Guru Dev then closed his eyes, sat up in the full lotus position, took
one long deep breath, felt his body as a whole, became aware of his
bija-mantra, just like any other thought, and absorbed in deep
meditation, passed into Unity Conciousness.

Inside the Jyotirmath

After arranging the funeral of his Guru DevJi and turning over, with
all due pomp and ceremony, the administration of the Jyotirmath Trust
to Guru Dev's worthy succussor, Shantanand Saraswati, as specified in
Guru Dev's hand-written will, Bal Bramhacharya Mahesh followed Guru
Dev's instructions to the letter: he went to a cave in the forest of
Garwhal, up in the Himalayas. It has been reported that Bal practiced
the mouna yoga. During that time he also mastered the siddha yoga;
became a master of meditation in the tradition of yogis; cognized the
bija-mantras, thus becoming somewhat of a Seer himself!

Yep, Mahesh had become so adept at reading Guru Duv's mind, that
according to accounts I've read, Mahesh was even able to anticipate
Guru Dev's requests BEFORE they were made. That's one of the miracles
of the bhakti path - transcendental superconciousness.

Guru Dev was already in God Conciousness, but when he dropped his

[FairfieldLife] Yoga meets Tennessee

2005-09-18 Thread bbrigante

My new yoga teacher reminded me profoundly of Julie McCoy from "The
Love Boat." She wore a pink leotard and I'm pretty certain was also
the grand mistress of Cardio-Burn Stepping. She bounded up to me,
placed her nose an inch from mine and demanded, "What's y'all's
name?" with such friendly enthusiasm it made me wish I had more
names. Class began only after Julie had set her Kenny Chesney CD to
the proper volume.

"Take yer PLAY-sez!" she hollered.

Julie, I soon learned, had an accent that favored four-syllable
commands with the emphasis on the third syllable.

"Stretch yer HAM-strings!"

"Grab yer ANK-ulls!"

"Push it HARD-er!"
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/09/18/magazine/18funny_humor.html

"Over the next hour, Julie proceeded to do everything - I'm not sure
how to say this politely - dead wrong. When she wasn't coercing
stiff middle-aged beginners into weak-necked unsupported headstands
("You can DO it!"), she was encouraging us to compete against one
another - the ultimate yoga sin. ("Stretch like BETH does!") I
wanted to beg the other students to please not imitate Beth (who
clearly had the flexibility of a cheerleader) as I winced and waited
to hear the banjo-string-snapping sounds of Dixie tendons popping
all around me.

At last it was over, and Julie led us into a period of quiet
meditation, where we were to lie on our backs, letting our bodies
absorb the benefits of our practice. She changed the music over to a
porno soundtrack and turned up the volume. "Shut yer eyes," she
said. "Look for yer CHAK-ras! That'll be them bright-colored LIGHTS
in yer soul! You gotta sur-REN-der to the MO-ment!" Then, the oddest
command of the day: "Work them BOOBS, y'all!"

Has it been established that there was no autopsy performed?

If an autopsy isn't performed, how can it be known if someone died of
poisoning? It would be logical to infer that if someone died, unless
proven otherwise, regardless if an autopsy was performed, then the
person probably died of natural causes.

Whether it's Kenny Chesney or New Age music, the first thing that
would have been a turn-off for me would be ANY music being played
while yoga is being taught.

Back in '79 I think it was my hometown center raised money to buy a
wonderful mansion for the local TMO. We got it at a real deal:
$400,000...which in today's market would easily be $2,000,000 minimum.

More than enough for a Peace Palace, no?

But the money is long gone...

[FairfieldLife] Sustainable mini heaters

2005-09-18 Thread anonymousff
This is a brilliantly economical way to
keep your fingers and hands warm this winter.
But it CANNOT be used in a household with
children, for obvious fire safety reasons.
Keeps your hands and fingers warm and cosy,
and cuts down on heating bills.

Instructions:
1. Take an empty 400g can and remove the label.
2. Take a candle, of approx 2 cm width, and cut off
a 3-4 centimeter length.
3. Place the candle in the bottom of the can, melting
wax at the bottom of the can if necessary, to set it in.
4. Light the candle and enjoy the warmth and heat. But do
handle with care, as it can get quite hot.

Guffaw! Yeah, write, Yahoo! FL, that's where the moderator maintains
an archive called 'Sexie Sadie' that details Ned Wynn's private emails

someone's private email on Yahoo! Groups, especially libelous and
defamatory private email? You'd probably be knowing more about this
that anyone, since you're a regular respondent over there.

[FairfieldLife] Classics from the FL Junkyard

2005-09-18 Thread Richard J. Williams
From: David Fiske
Date: Wed Sep 14, 2005 8:57 am
Subject: Kirk and dick swinging

Does anyone know how Kirk, the New Orleans chef, handled Katrina? He
would have loved the posts on Jay's heroin experiences and the
redoubtable woman here who asserts she has the power to compel someone
swing his dick until it drops off. This group has become more eclectic
than Rick could have foreseen or maybe wanted. It reminds me of some
of the stuff I once read on the "Dark and Erotic" chat site; shades of
Charlie going to strip clubs! Scratch most people and you will find
sex lurking. Nude swimming has my vote of approval. I have done it
most of the summer down on the lake here.

From: TurquoiseB

Subject: Re: Kirk and dick swinging

I mean, someone who believes she can make a guy's dick fall off from
afar is pissing away her talents here on FFL. Why not use
that...uh...talent for the greater good of humanity?

For example, if she just aimed one of her patented Dickwhammys at the
guys in Al-Qaeda, that would be the end of terrorist attacks. What,
after all, are these guys going to do with those 72 virgins that Allah
presents them in Heaven if they're dickless?

Or she could aim the whammy at George W. Bush. Lord knows Laura would
never notice the difference, but most of those Neocon supporters are
such closet cases that they'd drop the dickless wonder like a hot
potato.

The potential uses of the Dickwhammy are endless. And just think...if
she'd used it on Maharishi 40 years ago, Rick would have none of those
TM camp follower babes to obsess about.

Hey, off_world_beings, the same thing happened to me a year or so

Fortunately the person that did it fessed up right away and Rick was
kind enough to delete the fake posting from the site.

The only difference is: yours is harmless enough...when it happened
to me the posting could have actually gotten me a visit from the

Yes it's me! Eve_69.

I impersonated Petrus and willytex. I admit it. There were probably
two copycats because frankly you two people deserved the humorous
attempts to damage your egos. I am not going into details about why I
did it except that many times both of you totally cut me down without

Can you believe that one those informers over there, Rudra Joe, once

Another radical, Tom Pall, once threated to shoot me in the back on a

It is my business because the email was addressed to me and concerned
a member of my family.

I posted it here because there was a relevant discussion about Tom
Pall's attitudes towards members of other races.

It is inconceivable to me how one can profess spirituality on one
hand, and tolerate racial hatred on the other. That alone makes it
relevant to this group.

[FairfieldLife] Avon Park memories

2005-09-18 Thread Rick Archer
>From a friend:

Hi Rick,

I was on the original team from West Palm Beach that found the
facility back in the late 70's to be used for the state Capitols
project. It was a great bargain at around $350k, I remember getting
the check from National at the time and thought, wow what a lot of
money. I can only imagine how much the place sold for, located next
to a golf course and lake. It was built in the 1920's and at the
time we bought it, needed a lot of repair, who knows what it will be
used for, but I bet the movement is going see 5 plus million out of
the deal, it's on 4 or 5 or more acres I believe.

Before it's current incarnation, the facility housed pre-Purusha
guys and staff, we had a pretty successful flower farm and
greenhouse, plus honey/pollen operation, and an ill-fated vegetable
farm. Got to spend some fun times with Steve Shimer. We were all
clueless but eventually it turned into a very sweet place. Haven't
been back since 1980, and the movement did it again, bought low and
sold high. I wish the best for the team.

One more funny or not so funny story, we had a deal set to buy
furniture for all 120 plus rooms, from a Holiday Inn liquidation
sale, real cheap but decent furniture. Well good O'l John Konhaus
caught wind of this deal and told us no way, International was going
to build custom gold painted furniture. Sad to say, the guys only
had mattresses that we were at least fortunate to buy before they
would have said no we will build beds for you too!

Stick around. We know it wasn't you. I think I know how he did it, but I
don't want to explain it so as not to give anyone else ideas. My

we suspect that they're up to no good, we admit them with "all posts

Yes, I've heard Maharishi say this many times. I can do this with my wife
sometimes. But it doesn't mean he could know that Guru Dev was starting his
japa mantra, entering such and such a state, etc. And I've never heard of
his having told any of this to anyone. Can you publish original sources?

I doubt Maharishi would agree with this. He would assert that Guru Dev had
been in Brahman most of his life.

[FairfieldLife] Lord's Prayer ~ from original Aramaic

2005-09-18 Thread Rick Archer
Various translations of the Lord's Prayer

The Prayer To Our Father (in the original Aramaic)

Abwûn
"Oh Thou, from whom the breath of life comes,

d'bwaschmâja
who fills all realms of sound, light and vibration.

Nethkâdasch schmach
May Your light be experienced in my utmost holiest.

Têtê malkuthach.
Your Heavenly Domain approaches.

Nehwê tzevjânach aikâna d'bwaschmâja af b'arha.
Let Your will come true - in the universe (all that vibrates)
just as on earth (that is material and dense).

Hawvlân lachma d'sûnkanân jaomâna.
Give us wisdom (understanding, assistance) for our daily need,

Waschboklân chaubên wachtahên aikâna
daf chnân schwoken l'chaijabên.
detach the fetters of faults that bind us, (karma)
like we let go the guilt of others.

Wela tachlân l'nesjuna
Let us not be lost in superficial things (materialism, common
temptations),

ela patzân min bischa.
but let us be freed from that what keeps us off from our true
purpose.

Metol dilachie malkutha wahaila wateschbuchta l'ahlâm almîn.
>From You comes the all-working will, the lively strength to act,
the song that beautifies all and renews itself from age to age.

Amên.
Sealed in trust, faith and truth.
(I confirm with my entire being)

~~

Lords Prayer Translated from Aramaic
A Translation of "Our Father" directly from Aramaic into English

O cosmic Birther of all radiance and vibration. Soften the ground of
our being and carve out a space within us where your Presence can
abide.

Fill us with your creativity so that we may be empowered to bear the
fruit of your mission.

Let each of our actions bear fruit in accordance with our desire.

Endow us with the wisdom to produce and share what each being needs
to grow and flourish.

Untie the tangled threads of destiny that bind us, as we release
others from the entanglement of past mistakes.

Do not let us be seduced by that which would divert us from our true
purpose, but illuminate the opportunities of the present moment.

For you are the ground and the fruitful vision, the birth, power and
fulfillment, as all is gathered and made whole once again.

~~
Lords Prayer, from the original Aramaic
Translation by Neil Douglas-Klotz in Prayers of the Cosmos

O Birther! Father- Mother of the Cosmos

Focus your light within us - make it useful.

Create your reign of unity now-

through our fiery hearts and willing hands

Help us love beyond our ideals

and sprout acts of compassion for all creatures.

Animate the earth within us: we then

feel the Wisdom underneath supporting all.

Untangle the knots within

so that we can mend our hearts' simple ties to each other.

Don't let surface things delude us,

But free us from what holds us back from our true purpose.

Out of you, the astonishing fire,

Returning light and sound to the cosmos.

  Amen.

Lords Prayer, from Aramaic into Old English
Translation by G.J.R. Ouseley from The Gospel of the Holy Twelve

Our Father-Mother Who art above and within:

Hallowed be Thy Name in twofold Trinity.

In Wisdom, Love and Equity Thy Kingdom come to all.

Thy will be done, As in Heaven so in Earth.

Give us day by day to partake of Thy holy Bread, and the fruit of
the
living Vine.

As Thou dost forgive us our trespasses, so may we forgive others who
trespass against us.

Shew upon us Thy goodness, that to others we may shew the same.

In the hour of temptation, deliver us from evil.

Am

MUM's policy of enrolling poor foreign students for a Master's
degree and a job in the USA are successful, with those computer
science students paying full tuition (after they get a job) in
contrast to MIU's old policy of free rides for poor foreign students
(students are off the hook for tuition payments if they don't get a
job). In addition to being financially successful, some of those
students who are primarily interested in working in the U.S. will
like TM and continue to practice after they return to

[FairfieldLife] Why are we allowing pornography to be posted here?

2005-09-18 Thread bmorry2000
I just read message #73263. What is there pornography in this group?

Even though I can intellectually see the transcendental value, I am
still offended by it

Moderator, where are you???

[FairfieldLife] Earl Kaplan Weds and the Hog farm news

2005-09-18 Thread pibssmith
I heard Earl Kaplan got married today at his Fairfield mansion to
long time girlfriend Kathleen . They share a small child together
Sunny something and she had a child before she met him. I think they
live in Cedar Falls or Waterloo, Iowa as she cant take her other child
out of state often. I suppose Earl jets off in his private plane for
business in CO or to his BAchelor Mansion in Malibu yes he does own
one of the ABC Bachelors mansions but his home with Kathleen and her
child and his with her is Cedar Falls area where her ex husband is and
family.
All was a shock to me not that I cared just gossip who really cares
about him except for that movie star rich folks gossip factor and
entertainment. I wonder why he goes to FAirfield or keeps his
Fairfield house and if he does why he does not just give it all up and
live there but guess he feels it would be too uncomfortable or
controversial and guess he cant sell easily those of you there would
know more than me. I imagine her child is now school age and if she
cant take the child out of state except for a vacation she might as
well live near her parents and the ex for the childs sake.
I know you were all dying to know this gossip since most are men. I
dont know any more than that except a few close friends from FF were
invited. I am not one or there, just the messenger.

I also hear from my friends there about some Hog Confinement thing
that the town may lose??? I dont understand the ins and outs legally
and wait to hear more from friends there after this weeks meeting. Can
Fairfield really lose this and is it really a health threat?

Earl probably keeps the house because it would be difficult to sell
it (assessed value: $2.4 million):

Rodgers Badgett has had a more modest Sthapathyaveda home further
south on B st for sale for years with no takers at his asking price.

A friend tells me that no town has ever won one.

>and is it really a health threat?

Yes. Plus will make the town smell and lower property values. In other
words, ruin the place. Big meeting at the Best Western Wednesday.
