[FairfieldLife] A Riddle

2006-04-22 Thread TurquoiseB

At least in the world of Internet humour, Scorpionland
is kicking America's butt, big-time...

A RIDDLE

George Bush meets with the Queen of England.

He asks her, Your Majesty, how do you run such an
efficient government? Are there any tips you can give
to me?

Well, says the Queen, the most important thing is
to surround yourself with intelligent people.

Bush frowns. But how do I know the people around me
are really intelligent?

The Queen takes a sip of tea. Oh, that's easy. You
just ask them to answer an intelligent riddle. The
Queen pushes a button on her intercom. Please send
Tony Blair in here, would you?

Tony Blair walks into the room. Yes, my Queen?

The Queen smiles Answer me this, please, Tony. Your
mother and father have a child. It is not your brother
and it is not your sister. Who is it?

Without pausing for a moment, Tony Blair answers,
Well, your Majesty, that would be me.

Yes, Very good, says the Queen.

Bush goes back home to ask Dick Cheney, his Vice
President, the same question. Dick, answer this for
me. Your mother and your father have a child. It's not
your brother and it's not your sister. Who is it?

I'm not sure, says Cheney, let me get back to you
on that one.

Cheney goes to his Advisors and asks every one, but
none can give him an answer. Finally, he ends up in
the men's room and recognizes Colin Powell's shoes
in the next stall.

Cheney shouts, Colin! Can you answer this for me?

Your mother and father have a child and it's not your
brother or your sister. Who is it?

Colin Powell yells back, That's easy. It's me!

Cheney smiles, and says, Thanks!

Then, Cheney goes back to speak with Bush. Say, I did
some research and I have the answer to that riddle.
It's Colin Powell.

Bush gets up, stomps over to Cheney and angrily yells
into his face No, you idiot! It's Tony Blair!

[FairfieldLife] U.S. helped Iran go nuclear

2006-04-22 Thread authfriend

U.S. endorsed Iranian plans to build massive nuclear energy industry

March 5, 2006 – In 1976, President Gerald R. Ford signed a directive
that granted Iran the opportunity to purchase U.S. built reprocessing
equipment and facilities designed to extract plutonium from nuclear
reactor fuel.

When Gerald Ford assumed the Presidency in August 1974, the current
Vice President of the United States, Richard B Cheney served on the
transition team and later as Deputy Assistant to the President. In
November 1975, he was named Assistant to the President and White
House Chief of Staff, a position he held throughout the remainder of
the Ford Administration.[1]

In August 1974, the current Secretary of Defense, Donald H. Rumsfeld
served as Chairman of the transition to the Presidency of Gerald R.
Ford. He then became Chief of Staff of the White House and a member
of the President's Cabinet (1974-1975)[2] and was the Ford
Administration's Secretary of Defense from 1975–1977.

The current President of the World Bank, Paul Wolfowitz served in the
Arms Control and Disarmament Agency under President Gerald Ford.[3]
Wolfowitz is considered as a prominent architect of the Bush
Doctrine, which has come to be identified with a policy that permits
pre-emptive war against potential aggressors before they are capable
of mounting attacks against the United States.

According to Washington Post Staff Writer Dafna Linzer, Ford's team
endorsed Iranian plans to build a massive nuclear energy industry,
but also worked hard to complete a multibillion-dollar deal that
would have given Tehran control of large quantities of plutonium and
enriched uranium – the two pathways to a nuclear bomb. Either can be
shaped into the core of a nuclear warhead, and obtaining one or the
other is generally considered the most significant obstacle to would-
be weopons builders.[4]

[FairfieldLife] The Holographic Universe, by Michael Talbot

2006-04-22 Thread Michael Dean Goodman

This is powerful stuff, worth reading. I think you'll enjoy.
It reveals some deep insights into the nature of the universe,
and what's beyond. It's relevant to a number of discussions
that have occurred on this list recently.

[Thanks to whoever posted part of it on one of the TM mailing lists
recently and inspired me to find and read the whole essay.]

The Holographic Universe
By Michael Talbot
http://www.crystalinks.com/holographic.html

In 1982 a remarkable event took place. At the University of Paris a
research team led by physicist Alain Aspect performed what may turn out to
be one of the most important experiments of the 20th century. You did not
hear about it on the evening news. In fact, unless you are in the habit of
reading scientific journals you probably have never even heard Aspect's
name, though there are some who believe his discovery may change the face
of science.

Aspect and his team discovered that under certain circumstances subatomic
particles such as electrons are able to instantaneously communicate with
each other regardless of the distance separating them. It doesn't matter
whether they are 10 feet or 10 billion miles apart.

Somehow each particle always seems to know what the other is doing. The
problem with this feat is that it violates Einstein's long-held tenet that
no communication can travel faster than the speed of light. Since
traveling faster than the speed of light is tantamount to breaking the time
barrier, this daunting prospect has caused some physicists to try to come
up with elaborate ways to explain away Aspect's findings. But it has
inspired others to offer even more radical explanations.

University of London physicist David Bohm, for example, believes Aspect's
findings imply that objective reality does not exist, that despite its
apparent solidity the universe is at heart a phantasm, a gigantic and
splendidly detailed hologram.

To understand why Bohm makes this startling assertion, one must first
understand a little about holograms. A hologram is a three- dimensional
photograph made with the aid of a laser.

To make a hologram, the object to be photographed is first bathed in the
light of a laser beam. Then a second laser beam is bounced off the
reflected light of the first and the resulting interference pattern (the
area where the two laser beams commingle) is captured on film.

When the film is developed, it looks like a meaningless swirl of light and
dark lines. But as soon as the developed film is illuminated by another
laser beam, a three-dimensional image of the original object appears.

The three-dimensionality of such images is not the only remarkable
characteristic of holograms. If a hologram of a rose is cut in half and
then illuminated by a laser, each half will still be found to contain the
entire image of the rose.

Indeed, even if the halves are divided again, each snippet of film will
always be found to contain a smaller but intact version of the original
image. Unlike normal photographs, every part of a hologram contains all
the information possessed by the whole.

The whole in every part nature of a hologram provides us with an entirely
new way of understanding organization and order. For most of its history,
Western science has labored under the bias that the best way to understand
a physical phenomenon, whether a frog or an atom, is to dissect it and
study its respective parts.

A hologram teaches us that some things in the universe may not lend
themselves to this approach. If we try to take apart something constructed
holographically, we will not get the pieces of which it is made, we will
only get smaller wholes.

This insight suggested to Bohm another way of understanding Aspect's
discovery. Bohm believes the reason subatomic particles are able to remain
in contact with one another regardless of the distance separating them is
not because they are sending some sort of mysterious signal back and forth,
but because their separateness is an illusion. He argues that at some
deeper level of reality such particles are not individual entities, but are
actually extensions of the same fundamental something.

To enable people to better visualize what he means, Bohm offers the
following illustration.

Imagine an aquarium containing a fish. Imagine also that you are unable to
see the aquarium directly and your knowledge about it and what it contains
comes from two television cameras, one directed at the aquarium's front and
the other directed at its side.

As you stare at the two television monitors, you might assume that the fish
on each of the screens are separate entities. After all, because the
cameras are set at different angles, each of the images will be slightly
different. But as you continue to watch the two fish, you will eventually
become aware that there is a certain relationship between them.

When one turns, the other also makes a slightly different but corresponding
turn; when one faces the front, the other always faces toward the

It's also a standard part of Quantum Mechanics theory and has been
for 75+ years or so. There's no known way of using this fact to
communicate information over long distances, BTW. Testing to see what
one electron or whatever is doing, means you've modified the other
one also so whoever tests first destroys any info the other person
wanted to send.

Generally it takes more than 2 years to bring new technology of that

is almost worse than useless, so even if construction was well under

Richard Feynman said of quantum mechanics, Do not
keep saying to yourself, if you can possibly avoid
it, 'But how can it be like that?' because you will
get 'down the drain' into a blind alley from which
nobody has yet escaped. Nobody knows how it can be
like that.

What New Age types like Talbot make of Aspect's
famous experiment is something else again. Exactly
*because* nobody knows how it can be like that,
folks feel free to speculate. Talbot's is
certainly an *appealing* speculation, but it's no
more than that.

Aspect's experiment, however, is seminal.

Re: [FairfieldLife] Re: The Holographic Universe, by Michael Talbot

2006-04-22 Thread Dharma Mitra

The speed of light is NOT constant, though may typically be within a steady range for any point in time and space, and for us, that may typically be 186,289 miles a second, though not always. Through deep freezing, MIT was able to slow it down to around a mile an hour a few years ago.
Your thoughts travel faster than the speed of light, and through your burgeoning spiritual development, including your polishing of your kosas and relinquishing the petty minitis of your manaomaya beougsoie, you'll make these subtler capabilities more ubiquitious in your daily life and conscious mind.
In the crude realm/perspective, there are myriad dimensions of matter and beyond. The fourth dimension is minimally demonstrated by a sphere spinning on its axis, the fifth dimension is minimalistically demonstrated by the asymetrical circumambulation of many objects around a shared center, more complexly around many centers and intersecting with each other, again asymetrically, in a multitude of intersections. More subtly, the fifth dimension is represented in
our complex organism reproduction, where in a brief moment, two or more cells conjugating a new union can burgeon forth and fully replicate a new organism, all single-cells, just as the two that started the process, along with other factors, working together to facilitate the incarnate excellence of a greater whole through their union and in constant maintenance of that union.
I thought I sent a message to the group that had links and quotes in it that can further address this, though it seems I did not, yet, so below please find more information that can facilitate discovering more about both the life force pervading the universe, one which Yogananda referred to as Lifetrons and has been aluded to by other gurus as well.
Microwaves and MicroVitaI just discovered this young person's experiment
in using microwave oven in relation to growing new life. In life
generally, considering microwaves are 'radiation', and ever since I
learned about
MicroVita*(click me)

, I've been doubtful of using microwave ovens. Perhaps you should be too after you've taken a look at this experiment:

http://MicrowaveThis.Shows.it/

I'm confident you too may want to reconsider, as I have, cooking
your foodusing microwave ovens. Convenient, sure, though other forms
of toxic waste are convenient too, or we wouldn't continue using those
either.

* The concept of
MicroVita is proposed as the basis for a new scientific paradigm on
your horizon. MicroVita are subtle, sub-microscopic living entities
that organise energy to create forms, structures and processes
throughout the universe. While millions of MicroVita may compose one
electron, MicroVita as a life force are parallel to virae, yet much
smaller, and will help explain the origin of life and evolution of
species through the creation and modification of new genes. The
interplay between positive and negative MicroVita in the human body and
mind explains the causes of disease, and suggests a new approach to
health. (If you want the whole article from which this comes, contact me with

)

(excerpts from other MicroVita articles)

MicroVitum is the
inner secret of life, the inner secret of vital progress in the three
fields of physicality, psyche and spirituality. This theory of
MicroVita cannot be neglected or ignored. Many chemical formulae are
to be changed, many structures in the entire universe are to undergo
metamorphosis. The entire world is eagerly waiting for this all-round
metamorphosis.

The application of
MicroVita in the practical field will bring about radical changes in
various chemical formulae. Now the question is, what sort of change or
metamorphosis will take place? Up till now the concept of physical
science was that carbon atoms are indispensable for the origin of
life. After people are acquainted with the theory of MicroVita, they
will no longer subscribe to the old concepts. People will be
introduced to higher and subtler formulae than the present ones
regarding the internal structure of objects.

According to the
modern biologists, protoplasmic cells are made of carbon atoms, but in
the MicroVita age the biologist will say that the protoplasmic cells
are not made of carbon atoms, rather they are the collective solidified
form of innumerable MicroVita. By controlling the MicroVita of the
protoplasmic cells, major changes can be effected within the human
body. Ordinary people can be made extraordinary. Their mental
qualities and capabilities can be enlarged by supplying MicroVita in
sufficient quantity. That is to say, the theory of MicroVita has
immense potentialities in introducing numerous changes in human
society. By changing MicroVita, ectoplasmic changes will come which in
turn will bring about endoplasmic change, and thus the mind will be
able to control the organism, the physical body, in a better way.

Consequently, there
will be remarkable changes in the

I could have sworn the Ayatollah was exiled in France. Perhaps
after spending time in Iraq. And yes I do agree with this time line of the Shah
taking off and the Ayatollah landing very quickly after. Seems I also remember
Carter would not allow the Shah to come to the US and stay. There might
have been some brief period to seek medical help but he definitely couldn't stay
and left for Mexico and than back to Morocco and Egypt as I recall. The Shah had
a difficult time getting a country to accept
him.

[FairfieldLife] Ancient Flying Machines - Vimanas

2006-04-22 Thread Michael Dean Goodman

Dear Fairfield Lifers,

Here's another eye-opening essay - some wild assertions and mind-boggling
possibilities about how different the past may have been than the history
that we've been taught - possibilities about flying machines, space travel,
nuclear weapons (and beyond)... Food for thought. Might help with let-
ting go of the paradigm of history that we've imbibed and our whole culture
is immersed in.

Enjoy

Michael

Ancient Flying Machines - Vimanas
Contributed by John Burrows
Slightly edited by Michael Dean Goodman

The vedic tradition of India tell us that we are now in the fourth age [yuga]
of mankind - part of a never-ending cycle of flavors of time lasting about 4.3
million years per cycle. The vedas call these four ages: The Golden Age [sat
yuga - lasting 1.7 million years, where the average length of life is 100,000
years], The Silver Age [treta yuga - lasting 1.3 million years, where the
average length of life is 10,000 years], The Bronze Age [dvapara yuga -
lasting 864,000 years, where the average length of life is 1000 years], and
The Iron Age [kali yuga - lasting 432,000 years, where the average length of
life is roughly 100 years].

The Vimanas

The Ramayana, part of the Itihasas of the vedic tradition, describes a vimana
as a double-deck, circular (cylindrical) aircraft with portholes and a dome.
It flew with the speed of the wind and gave forth a melodious sound (a humming
noise?). Ancient Indian texts on vimanas are so numerous it would take several
books to relate what they have to say. The ancient Indians themselves wrote
entire flight manuals on the control of various types of vimanas, of which
there were basically four: the shakuna vimana, the sundara vimana, the rukma
vimana and the tripura vimana.

* The secret of constructing aeroplanes, which will not break, which cannot be
cut, will not catch fire, and cannot be destroyed.
* The secret of making planes motionless.
* The secret of making planes invisible.
* The secret of hearing conversations and other sounds in enemy planes.
* The secret of receiving photographs of the interior of enemy planes.
* The secret of ascertaining the direction of enemy planes approach.
* The secret of making persons in enemy planes lose consciousness.
* The secret of destroying enemy planes.

Sanskrit texts are filled with references to gods who fought battles in the
sky using vimanas equipped with weapons as deadly as any we can deploy in
these more enlightened times. For example, there is a passage in the Ramayana
which reads: The puspaka car that resembles the Sun and belongs to my brother
was brought by the powerful Ravana; that aerial and excellent car going
everywhere at will that car resembling a bright cloud in the sky.

.. and the King [Rama] got in, and the excellent car at the command of the
Raghira, rose up into the higher atmosphere.

In the Mahabharata, another aspect of the Itihasas, an ancient vedic text of
enormous length, we learn that an individual named Asura Maya had a vimana
measuring twelve cubits in circumference, with four strong wheels. The text is
a veritable gold mine of information relating to conflicts between gods who
settled their differences apparently using weapons as lethal as the ones
[nuclear] that we are capable of deploying.

Apart from 'blazing missiles', the text records the use of other deadly
weapons. 'Indra's Dart' operated via a circular 'reflector'. When switched on,
it produced a 'shaft of light' which, when focused on any target, immediately
'consumed it with its power'.

In one particular exchange, the hero, Krishna, is pursuing his enemy, Salva,
in the sky, when Salva's vimana, the Saubha, is made invisible in some way.
Undeterred, Krishna immediately fires off a special weapon: I quickly laid on
an arrow, which killed by seeking out sound.

Many other terrible weapons are described, quite matter of factly, in the
Mahabharata, but the most fearsome of all is the one used against the Vrishis.

The Narrative Records

Gurkha flying in his swift and powerful vimana hurled against the three
cities of the Vrishis and Andhakas a single projectile charged with all the
power of the Universe. An incandescent column of smoke and fire, as brilliant
as ten thousands suns, rose in all its splendor. It was the unknown weapon,
the Iron Thunderbolt, a gigantic messenger of death which reduced to ashes the
entire race of the Vrishnis and Andhakas.

It is important to note, that these kinds of records are not isolated. They
can be cross-correlated with similar reports in other ancient civilizations.
The after-effects of this Iron Thunderbolt have an ominously recognizable
ring. Apparently, those killed by it were so burnt that their corpses were
unidentifiable. The survivors fared little better, as it caused their hair and
nails to fall out.

Perhaps the most disturbing and challenging information about these allegedly
mythical vimanas in the ancient records is

Of course, regardless of the real history of the human race,
literally hundreds of millions of people in India accept this stuff
as true in some sense, so what you're really doing is saying that all
