SJ,

You're correct. It's a mantra for Ganesh, which I didn't know before. It has
a healing sound for me. Thanks.

Forwarded from a friend

Hi everyone,
I've set up all the clothes in my living room, with the blessings and tolerance
and amusement of my beloved flat-mate RBales. And I'm open every weekday
12:30-2 or by appt. come say hi and look thru things: silk scarves for $21.
baby clothes, guys shirts - the ice dyeing came out stunning on a number of
them. In addition, my usual, unusual leggings, hand-dyed, hand painted, etc.
vest, tops, upcycled unique sweaters reconstructed with lace or tuille so you
can have a beautiful swish even in winter. I call it winter soLACE.

this will continue after Christmas - hope to see you sometime, especially those
of you that didn't make it to the trade fair due to not loving crowds of people
and overwhelming numbers of booths to choose from when you're making highly
delicate decisions.

I just thought I'd start with a big list of most of my friends on email and if
you'd like to be on my saved list for future events, let me know - otherwise
I'll not arbitrarily include you in this bigger list. Unless the gotu kola
doesn't work and I forget I already tried this once.

My address is 51 E. Madison and you can come in either entrance - actually, if
you choose the right one, you'll get 5% off. of course only I know the right
one.

OR if the crowds even over here are too much you can go online to my etsy shop,
the link of which is below. SHOPPING ON ETSY: tell me what you want and i'll
relist it as free shipping . such a deal.

and for reading this entire email you get a free finger crochet necklace with
purchase of any other wildly elegant and fascinating item. much love

everyone might lay claim to the same Guruparampara (earliest names)from
Narayana up to a certain point, so that part would be same for many traditions
until they lay claim to their own individual Parampara and distinct Guru lineage
you can learn the whole TM puja now and do it yourself. Nothing wrong with
that. Actually you can take Maharishi as your personal Guru now as explicitly
in the Vedic tradition once the Guru is no longer around to tell you no then
you can assume his answer is yes. Dont go and eat beef ever again if you do
this though!! The Guru will take it as a big offense.
A lot of the Vedas is exact same material repeated elsewhere or with a
different order or different style, if you do some basic research you can find
the particulars of that.

Re: [FairfieldLife] Transcendentalist power! Now!

2017-12-19 Thread Archer Angel archonan...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
"Transcendence of peace" means to go beyond peace, I am not sure that is what
you meant. It would mean peace is bypassed.
The might mean the absence of peace or it could mean something beyond peace and
non-peace, but not peace itself.
It could also mean one transcends non-peace, and somehow gains peace, but the
word order is ambiguous as removing non-peace might be neither peace nor its
opposite.
Until enlightenment, expressed as "The Transcendent," this terminology
considers this goal as an object even though it is the subjective value of
experience and not an object of experience, it is the value that contains the
objects of experience and illuminates them (if you think of it dualistically).
Transcendence is more like a verb than a noun. It implies passage rather than
arrival.
You pass beyond ignorance, but the removal of ignorance does not mean you are
in a different place -- you are in the same place, but not quite so
half-witted, seeing things clearly for once.
Transcendence as a concept is a stand-in word for the process of renewal and
repair. The destination is always where you are and this never changes.
Using transcendent as a noun implies one is at the bottom of the spiritual
ladder, hopefully looking up to supposedly a better life. If still hoping for
this, the point of it all is missed once again. Difficult it is to get out of
this mental straight jacket.
Religion tries to maintain the straight jacket, while spirituality tries to
break the mould so the nature of freedom and captivity become clear.
If you consider it from a unified perspective, differences pale, it cannot be
thought because there is no subject or object, even if you were standing in the
midst of a thunderstorm and being pummeled by hail, deafened by thunder and
blinded by lightning.
And remember pride is the inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance,
merit, or superiority. "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit
before a fall." You want to transcend ignorance but pride is an unfortunate
by-product of ignorance. It is a crutch and shows lack of courage, lack of self
reliance, a mask of puffed up self image.

SJ,

There's also a mantra that sounds like the TM invocation during initiation
which I read in yhe Srimad Bhagavatam. I beliieve it came from the Vishnu
shield mantra, as Srila Prabhupada called it.

SJ,

The mantra that I memorized sounds like the following:

Hadrang karne bisro noya ba de baha.
Hadram bashe maksha de ya jit traha.
Stara rengai estos tobaggong shasta nubhihi.
Vyase ba te ba hiteng yuhooo.

 Swastena indro grabtas rabaha.
 Swastena pusha vishwabe daha.
 Swastena starcho aristena mihi
 Swastenub brahas pater da tatu.

That's the best I can sound out what I heard. Does that sound familiar?

A few years ago, the TMO released a set of mantras in a cassette tape, without
showing the sanskrit texts. I remember memorizing one of them just by
listening at the tape and would mentally recite the mantra while sitting on my
desk at work. It definitely relieved some of the tensions that I had back
then... does anybody remember one of these mantras?

2017-12-19 Thread jr_...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]

It appears to me that NASA may be looking at the wrong ET signatures to find
alien worlds in space. Instead of directly listening for radio signals in
space, It appears that AI may have to be used to determine exoplanets that have
some evidence of life, such as water, methane and oxygen. IMO, this evidence
can be found on exoplanets that are near our solar system. Similarly, this
evidence may not be achievable for exoplanets that are over 1,000 light years
away. ( Assuming that the present AI technology cannot gather this distant
evidence for the time being).
