But according to Mr. Goodman, he never once, despite having spent years in the upper echelons of the TMO, and countless hours in the presence of the Marshy, never once saw anyone wrap the Marshy in a hug, sit down next to him, or snuggle up against the Marshy, but you and the others are convinced that the Marshy took to bed countless female students over a number of years for the purpose of sexual gratification. It's clear from Michael's account that Muktananda hugged him as a fellow yogi. It wasn't sexual. Hi Rick, This photo was printed in East-West magazine. You'll want to review the March-April 1977 issue. Swami Kriyananda is on the cover of the mag. I agree, the hug wasn't sexual but one of two friends in a friendly embrace. Web portal MSN said. As the last two of the nine Live Earth concerts got underway, MSN product manager Karin Muskopf said the number of streams had surpassed the previous record held by 2005's Live 8 global concerts to fight poverty. We have exceeded any other online entertainment event, Muskopf said. It's really exciting to see the enthusiasm for the concert. An Internet stream is when a person watches on a computer. People can stream an event more than once -- by switching it on and off -- so 9 million streams does not necessarily mean 9 million people watching, MSN said. Live 8 was the first major multi-venue event successfully streamed live with Time Warner Inc.'s AOL portal on the Web. AOL said 5 million people had logged on to the event on the day of those shows, but it did not say how many Internet streams of the event there had been. MSN said it would not be able to immediately determine the number of people who logged on to Live Earth. Control Room, producer of Live Earth and Live 8, said it found that the on-demand streams in the days after the Live 8 had the most impact, especially after clips were passed around by e-mail. Live 8 was streamed by users more than 100 million times in the six weeks following the shows. Live Earth is predicted to be three times bigger with organizers expecting more than 80 percent of the viewership will be on-demand in the days after the event. - Be a better Globetrotter. [FairfieldLife] My Trip to India!
Hello Everybody: I got back from India last week after completing the 21 day process. This is a great course and I encourage you to attend, if you can. Ask Bhagavan Amma for help if you don't have the money. Help can come in many unexpected ways. Here's a brief report about my trip to India. I didn't get to attend the January 2006 21 day process. I had to postpone it at the last minute. I did catch the next one that was held from March 3-23, 2006. --- While I was in India, every day felt like a Sunday. The environment is very gentle but very conducive to spiritual practices of any kind. There were lots of emotional releasesduring the course. I was expecting more bliss experiences. Bhagavan always tells his followers to heal their relationships. Most of the traumas, hurts, and pains are in that area. Not only that, there is traumas from being born in the world, birth trauma. All of that has been cleared. I did see Bhagavan and Amma on his birthday ( March 07, 2006). The Indians love him and they treat him like he's a rock star or a Hollywood celebrity. Every movement he makes, the crowd reacts. I've seen holy men and women over the years, but, never have I seen a darshan like that. I thought I was attending a superbowl football game. The energy was high and folks were on the verge of religious fervor. It reminded me of sitting in a black Baptist church. You know the term sanctified? That's what it was like. The 21 day process is interesting. We didn't do anything for the first two days except eat and lay around. We were supposed to have an orientation meeting on March 3. That was cancelled til the next day. Oneness staff member concentrated on registration, taking photo IDs. The orientation was held in the evening. The next day, the course began. March 5, 2006 at 7:30 am, we attended a maHAganapathy Homa. I didn't feel the effects of the homa, but, as the course went on, I did feel them. The homas lasted as a general rule of thumb for two hours. From there we went to class or the meditation hall. During the meditation halls, we'd either listen to lectures and/or observe a pada puja. Worship of the guru's feet. Most of the shakti collects in the feet. I have never done so much surrending in my life. I reached a point when I couldn't surrender any more. I told mentally told Bhagwan, I have nothing left. I've already thanked you a thousand times. What more can I give? I probably need to let go of one or two more items as I look back on this situation now. It rained the first two days we were there. I had done research on the weather and March is the month that receives the least amount of rainfall. Well, you could have fooled me. My shoes got wet, but, I had another pair, thank God. I once read that rain is considered a good omen. Every day it was pretty much the same routine. Go to the meditation hall in the mens'dorm and/or the main meditation hall next to the dining hall on the other side of the campus. We would often receive mantra deekshas there. One monk, male or female would place their hands on each man and woman's head. Imagine doing 100 plus people. The monks would have to be escorted out by another monk. Giving deekshas can get a person out there if you know what I mean. On Sundays, we would see a movie. We saw an IMAX film. I'll have to look through my notes to get the title. I don't see it. Perhaps, I didn't write it down. I did a lot of meditating on the course. It took two weeks for my system to settle down. When I realized I had only a week to go, I began meditating before going to bed, sleep for a few hours, than get up early in the morning 4am and meditate for one or two hours. I was keeping myself in a meditative state during the classes, so I was pretty spaced out most of the time. It wasn't until the last day of the course that deeksha showed me what it could do. We were giving each other deeksha. Suddenly, I felt like I was inside one of Con Edison's generators. The power was everywhere, surrounding me. It took over my body. I began making moaning sounds. When I gave deeksha to the last man, we were in a circle of five. I broke down and cried. It was an emotional cleansing that I needed. I felt better afterwards. There were other emotional releases during the course. I got exactly what I needed, not what I wanted or expected. I didn't wake up on the course. My system did move forward a little. We have several homas during this course. I hope they get the job done. It would be nice to see things turn around with the music (I'm a musician). Right now, it's the pits. I think this is a great course for others to take. Two more points. During the course, we observe mouma (silence). I found it helpful. I'm not used to this. On Transcendental Meditation courses, we can talk. After being with that movement for 32 years, mouma felt awkward. You have to remain celibate while you're on the course. The course is so intense,

[FairfieldLife] Hurrican Katrina: The Real Story
The following was forwarded from a friend. These are eye witness accounts of what happened in New Orleans. The names have been partially deleted. Peace, Marc -- hi friends- We need to know something closer to the truth than the lies and deceptions which are so hard to sift through. Please read these first hand accounts and pass on to your own friends. love, bruce Two friends of mine-paramedics attending a conference-were trapped in New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina. This is their eyewitness report. PG #1 Hurricane Katrina-Our Experiences by Larry B., Lorrie S. Two days after Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans, the Walgreen's store at the corner of Royal and Iberville streets remained locked. The dairy display case was clearly visible through the widows. It was now 48 hours without electricity, running water, plumbing. The milk, yogurt, and cheeses were beginning to spoil in the 90-degree heat. The owners and managers had locked up the food, water, pampers, and prescriptions and fled the City. Outside Walgreen's windows, residents and tourists grew increasingly thirsty and hungry. The much-promised federal, state and local aid never materialized and the windows at Walgreen's gave way to the looters. There was an alternative. The cops could have broken one small window and distributed the nuts, fruit juices, and bottle water in an organized and systematic manner. But they did not. Instead they spent hours playing cat and mouse, temporarily chasing away the looters. We were finally airlifted out of New Orleans two days ago and arrived home yesterday (Saturday). We have yet to see any of the TV coverage or look at a newspaper. We are willing to guess that there were no video images or front-page pictures of European or affluent white tourists looting the Walgreen's in the French Quarter. We also suspect the media will have been inundated with hero images of the National Guard, the troops and the police struggling to help the victims of the Hurricane. What you will not see, but what we witnessed, were the real heroes and sheroes of the hurricane relief effort: the working class of New Orleans. The maintenance workers who used a fork lift to carry the sick and disabled. The engineers, who rigged, nurtured and kept the generators running. The electricians who improvised thick extension cords stretching over blocks to share the little electricity we had in order to free cars stuck on rooftop parking lots. Nurses who took over for mechanical ventilators and spent many hours on end manually forcing air into the lungs of unconscious patients to keep them alive. Doormen who rescued folks stuck in elevators. Refinery workers who broke into boat yards, stealing boats to rescue their neighbors clinging to their roofs in flood waters. Mechanics who helped hot-wire any car that could be found to ferry people out of the City. And the food service workers who scoured the commercial kitchens improvising communal meals for hundreds of those stranded. Most of these workers had lost their homes, and had not heard from members of their families, yet they stayed and provided the only infrastructure for the 20% of New Orleans that was not under water. On Day 2, there were approximately 500 of us left in the hotels in the French Quarter. We were a mix of foreign tourists, conference attendees like ourselves, and locals who had checked into hotels for safety and shelter from Katrina. Some of us had cell phone contact with family and friends outside of New Orleans. We were repeatedly told that all sorts of resources including the National Guard and scores of buses were pouring in to the City. The buses and the other resources must have been invisible because none of us had seen them. We decided we had to save ourselves. So we pooled our money and came up with $25,000 to have ten buses come and take us out of the City. Those who did not have the requisite $45.00 for a ticket were subsidized by those who did have extra money. We waited for 48 hours for the buses, spending the last 12 hours standing outside, sharing the limited water, food, and clothes we had. We created a priority boarding area for the sick, elderly and new born babies. We waited late into the night for the imminent arrival of the buses. The buses never arrived. We later learned that the minute the arrived at the City limits, they were commandeered by the military. (con't after story #2) ~~ #2(from a friend at the Univ of Texas. It seems to me that everyone should hear this - it's so easy to believe that it was mad gangs with guns roaming New Orleans as we have been told when in fact there is

Comments interleaved below: --- In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, jim_flanegin [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: So from the perspective of Brahman, how does this global awakening manifest Itself? I really don't know exactly how to answer this question, as depending on which lens we use, we will perceive very different qualities or aspects to Life. I can't even say for sure there is a global awakening per se. However I am aware overall lately of more people waking up in me, new circuits lighting up and coming online, as it were. Most of these are do not seem to be aware of themselves as Brahman, but are nevertheless enlightened within my body to one degree or other, mostly in the general CC-GC-UC spectrum. Hi Rory, There has been talk about the global awakening. I believe it will happen as we get closer to 2012. CNN Headline News did a brief segment about Yoga. They called it Yoga goes mainstream. Sixteen million Americans did yoga last year and the number is expected to double this year. Americans spent 27 billions dollars on yoga lessons and yoga props and accessories. With the increasing number of individuals doing yoga, this is probably their introduction to meditation. You are picking up on this via consciousness. The rest of your post makes sense, though I haven't done any reading regarding Sirian and Pleaidean energies. Peace, Marc I have a clear perception of how it looks in the dual states of consciousness, but am unclear about the actual mechanics in Brahman. The simplest thing I can say is, the world is as we are, is not other than ourSelf, and as we erase the dramas we are overlaying on it, the more thoroughly it disappears into our primal radiance. Those disappearing into the radiance seem to enjoy the process quite a bit as well, as far as I can see. Nonetheless, they retain full freewill over their World-movies. I don't see a genuine Enlightenment of the whole world until virtually everyone is at least aware of their divine status as world-creators (Devas), if not actually absolute Sons and Daughters (Siddhas) ever and always in perfect freedom. However, on the other hand, the world is already essentially perfectly enlightened and always has been, with Purusha's chakras occupied by the various planets and beings in different states of consciousness. I can assume that what is happening is an awakening of Brahman's chakra corresponding to the Enlightening of the Earth, but have trouble picturing such a thing, since the Earth is but a speck in terms of truly Universal awareness...So, which part of Brahman's body is being transformed to correlate/'cause' the global awakening of Earth? Good question. Again, it depends on the lens. From the Solar-system viewpoint, we can see the Earth as occupying the system's Solar Plexus. Other energies are also involved; it looks as if the Sirian system is exerting much more direct influence over the Solar System than previously. I believe Sirius mediates most of the Galactic energies for our Solar System. The galactic energies I am most familiar with are Pleaidean, and these energies too are apparently becoming more and more tangible. It may well be that the earth herself is actually coming out of quarantine to rejoin the Universe, a kind of global correlate to Brahman consciousness. Evidence certainly points in this direction; this would correlate to Llundrub's statement about the earth's causal body dissolving. In fact, he says, we can expect humans to be as highly engineered as everything else centuries hence. At one time, I saw the rise of natural law as our one salvation against the mechanization of humanity. I don't know where I stand now. What's already available is shocking. I don't know if this was talked about here or not, but a while back they discovered the basic mechanism behind the *mortality* of cells, aglets, which like the the coverings on the ends of shoelaces (aglets) they are a covering on the end of our chromosomes. With each cells division, the aglets shorten, till eventually the cell will not divide any longer. Well we now know if you take a freshly divided cells, a zygote and clone it, the aglets are longer. Clone it again the aglets are even longer, and so on. So we know the technology to make cells (relatively) immortal. In nature there are only one type of cells that are essentially immortal and these are cancer cells. The current direction of this technology is to genetically engineer a retrovirus that doesn't behave like HIV but instead will take the longer aglets and, once infused into the body will replace your short aglet DNA with the long aglet type. The increase in lifespan will jump to about two to six hundred years. The patent has already been awarded on this technology. Lest we think people will not go for this type of thing, consider what we do today: do we lead healthy lifestyles so we look good and age well? No, we take the materialistic way out and use acids to eat the skin off our faces and bodies so we can grow a new younger looking skin--all in the name of superficial glamour. Do you know if this includes all twenty-four commentaries as Maharishi states in the Introduction section of the Gita, page 21 of the Penguin paperback version? Thanks. [FairfieldLife] Re: Genocide of women in hinduism
Hinduism Today has discussed this and other related topics in their magazines. From reading their materials, I've learned that the dowry concept was borrowed from the Europeans. I always thought it was a unique practice that began in India. It's very sad to hear about young women dying before their time caused by greed family members. Peace, Marc --- In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, ranigdv [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Genocide of Women in Hinduism by Sita Agarwal I dedicate this book to my late younger sister, who was murdered as a result of a dowry-related incident while in full blossom of youth. Like most sisters, we were very close to one another, and her early death had a deep impact on me. This tragedy inspired me with the will to join the Indian feminist movement, and to eventually write this book. I hope that this work may save the lives of some of my Indian sisters and help reduce the suffering of Indian womankind. The reason for writing this book is purely humanitarian, so I have made this book available in the public domain. The more widely this book is read, the more innocent lives shall be saved. Please distribute it freely, and help save Indian women. Thank you in advance for your efforts. After my sister's death, I joined the Indian feminist movement. I read the usual feminist literature, took part in the usual demonstrations in support of womens' rights, and attended the usual womens' rights conventions. However, it soon dawned on me that the movement was quite hollow, and, despite several decades of existance, had failed miserably in its objectives. At the time I write this book, in June 1999, the status of women in India has sunk to its lowest ebb. After 50 years of Independance, cases of female infanticide, sati, dowry-related murders and crimes against women are on the increase, and in many cases are at their highest levels seen since the birth of the Indian Republic. I soon realised that the reason is that Indian feminism has not tackled the core of the evil, but has only squabbled about superficial aspects of the problem. Western feminism was merely transplanted onto the subcontinent, and like many plants, had been unable to thrive in its new environment. It is only by tackling the root of the problem that this plant can grow. I hope that this book shall enlighten all Indian women as to the true reasons for the abject state of subjugation we are in. Everyone has heard the Brahmin male propaganda that the customs of sati, dowry, female infanticide and all other social suppression of women in India is the result of `social degeneration', `coruption', or still worse, `foreign Christian or Muslim influence'. This is all one big lie designed to fool women. The reasons are far more deep- rooted, and are fully the result of Brahmin male conspiracies. The real reason for the sad state of Indian women is the continuation of the Vedic and Vaishnava religions, collectively referred to as Brahminism or `astika' Hinduism. These religions clearly and unambiguously justify and prescribe the crushing of women to the status of sub-humans. Rather than being due to some kind of `corruption', the ghastly practices of sati, female infanticide, dowry and related acts are actually enforced by Vedic and Hindu scriptures. Although this may sound like some Christian or Muslim propaganda, it is not. I have backed up my research with quotations from Vedic and Vaishnava scriptures, and have shown that these religions, and nothing else, are the main culprits behind the most anti-woman system the world has ever seen. Far from being `enlightened' and `progressive', Brahmanism is in fact the very fountain of the evils of sati, female infanticide, devadasism and dowry. The result of my research is far-reaching. Instead of wasting time attacking trivialities, the Hindu religion itself must be attacked by Indian feminism. If Indian women are to become free, it is this faith that must tackled, and nothing else. No other religion, not even Islam or Christianity, burns its women, or slaughters one-tenth of all women each generation except Hinduism. Indeed, Brahminism is nothing but the legitimised genocide of women. In this book I have performed calculations showing how Brahminist men, and not Communists or Nazis, have been responsible for the greatest genocide (namely that of women) in the history of the world. The worst holocaust in human history was not that of the Jews or Africans, but was that inflicted on women by Brahmins. A significant part of this holocaust occurred in India during thousands of years of Brahmanic tyranny. Even in the modern era, Brahmin-enforced laws lead to the deaths of more people each decade than Hitler killed during the entire Second World War. To stop this ongoing holocaust, Indian women must unite with all those who oppose Hinduism, for
