I think the subject should be Have you found Jesus? And there is a
test to pass before you can post there -- if it takes you more than a
second to laugh at the test cartoon below, you're not worthy. :-)

You need to get out more, Buck - I've posted over

Go figure.

I'm trying to do a focus group kind of question

 Yahoo or Google groups. Why?

Thanks! You're a horse person, I am too. All the groups I follow with horses
are yahoo. I have historical interests also that I follow too and those groups
are yahoo too.

I figured that google ascending and yahoo falling generally, google groups
might have ability to host groups in a different and may be better way.

To me it is interesting that when I search and find groups related to my
interests they tend to be hosted at Yahoo.

What's wrong with google groups?

Just wondering (?)

 Thanks,

In terms of longevity as companies, Google is likely
to outlast Yahoo. On the other hand, Google's talk
forums are basically the old Usenet, with no changes
or improvements. That means essentially text only,
no embedded photos, no pretty colored text or snazzy
fonts if you feel like using them. Yahoo is better
for that, in that it accepts emails with these things
embedded in them (if you set the group up right) and
its online Web Viewer allows you to create posts
using these features.

A bigger concern might be How are people going to
hear about my forum? You need some way to attract an
audience. I know that Yahoo has a way to search the
forums by keyword looking for a subject you might be
interested in, and I suspect Google does too, but you
might have to attract a crowd there some other way. I
would not count on anyone just stumbling across your
group.

A third possibility, as much as I hate to admit it,
is Facebook. That platform makes it very easy to set
up private interest group forums, with access to them
controlled and visibility of them controlled. Even
though I have never used Google's competition to
Facebook -- Google+, I would imagine it does, too.
The only issue for both of these platforms is that
only members can see or use the groups. But it doesn't
cost anything -- other than one's sanity -- to join. :-)

This is all I know on the subject. Good luck, Buck.
The world *needs* another forum where non-meditators
can discuss the low-vibe things they think about.

:-) :-) :-)
