see these are not pyramids at all but high adepts who were all on
the verge of enlightenment. They look like pyramids because they are
all locked in full lotus. Close examination will reveal their nervous
systems are perfectly pure. They are channeling perfect bliss and
choose to stay that way. They do not help others. Aeons will pass and
 they will remain that way.

Can anyone with a human body be really like that? We are not isolated
entities, as what we are is formed through our interactions with
others and the environment. Either we through our daily interactions
help others to evolve or suck others to get short-term benefit above
others to ourselves (cannot get long-term). And we all change with
time to the better or worse through our interactions.
I can understand there are personality structures that are very rigid
and are mainly focused on sucking others. These beings often have the
greatest need to prove to the world, and themselves also, how much
they do for others. Their nervous system can be pure in such a way
that they through certain practises and inner connections can easily
experience and channel bliss, but their general personality structure
is not evolved and in that way not pure.

[FairfieldLife] Re: HA HA - A name and form joke

2005-10-27 Thread gerbal88
Mahesh was, probably still in, a clever manipulator of words. If you
follow him (his talks) over time, you will notice that he seems to
pick up more information as he goes -or- as time passed he became
more confident in talking about the things he had learned. Anyone who
has been on TTC or ATR with him has probably noticed the wannabe's in
the crowd who undertake to teach him something. This, certainly, is
something all teachers suffer from, of course; but in Mahesh's case
it was quite the bonus, like some professor using his students to do
research for him.

The longer Mahesh traveled, the more he learned. One of the things he
learned is that his own clever way of manipulating words was a real
crowd pleaser. He was hardly above dissing the opposition ... so
whether or not he knew anything about reincarnation, for example, or
bodhisattvas, it was to his advantage to appear superior to such
things!

An old-timer at a.m.t. used to say that watching the back-and-forth
at a.m.t. was fascinating, like watching a train-wreck! Mahesh turned
his whole movement into a fascinating train-wreck.

Someone asked him, once, about all the gang killings in a certain
huge city. He quipped: the criminals and killing the criminals ...
and then laughed! I didn't before then know that killing was funny.
Now, on reflection, I recognize the likelihood that he was simply
laughing at his own cleverness; narcissists are like that.

2005-10-27 Thread gerbal88

umm, the bagel, that is. Yes, Mahesh is
absolutely nutso, biting the hand that fed him. I guess he has such a
high opinion of himself (himself being, basically, a thief and
malignant narcissist) that he has to manufacture those who are worthy
of supporting him in the style to which he yearns to become
accustomed.

I know it's not quite accurate to say he has contempt for others,
because to do that's he'd actually have to care about someone other
than himself, which he certainly doesn't. Yet, whatever it is he
manifests towards what to me seems like others certainly looks like
contempt.

Yes, TM 2x20 was ok. But Mahesh was just clever, not insightful or
knowledgable in any guru-type waay. He made it up as he went along
using charm to beguile and manipulate others. He sold them what he
learned from them and promised them things that he could easily see
they wanted to believe. It began to fail, because he really wasn't
offering anything of substance. So he took cheating others to a new
level and called it A of E and Sighi and all kinds of crap that the
movement no longer acknowledges and, unhappily, trancenet (now gone)
no longer reminds us of.

Or for Bodhisattvas, who care more about other sentient beings than they do about dwelling in eternal bliss, a concept that seems to have escaped Maharishi completely. Indeed. In western practice we call it "the City of the Pyramids". It was probably first noted by the Buddhist-tantric adept Aleister Crowley, but is also noted in Itzhak Bentov's notebooks. As you leave dualistic vision and begin integrating non-dual Vision many people encounter a plane filled with what seems to be an endless plane of small pyramids. A city of pyramids. On closer inspection you see these are not "pyramids" at all but high adepts who were all on the verge of enlightenment. They look like pyramids because they are all locked in full lotus. Close examination will reveal their nervous systems are perfectly pure. They are channeling perfect bliss and choose to stay that way. They do not help others. Aeons will pass and they will remain that way.

I was thinking of the empty rows of trailers up in vedic city. I
guess there are functioning schools in India, though I'd say not much

starting with zimmerman's sponsorship in the 80s and going thru the
millionaire courses.

I am enjoying all of the riffs off my original question. In any
case, I am still curious why rebirth following death is seen as a
failure?

Though it might be a case outside the *assumed* definitions of death
and rebirth (i.e. multiple physical lives), I am thinking about a
technique I employ for a mundane purpose, that of getting enough
sleep at night.

Sometimes after going to bed, or after waking during the night, I
will still my mind in order to allow my autonomic nervous system to
take over and put me back to sleep. I've noticed that when I still
my mind, one of the things to go away is any thought of I or
reference to I. Because there is nothing to identify with at all,
I will experience a momentary fear before moving into sleep. It is
like death in that way. And then I awaken a few hours later, as
myself, having slept well.

Similarly, to gain enlightenment we go through a process of death,
then rebirth, from the inside out. That, and the previous example,
both entail a death and rebirth. Yet neither are a failure. This is
the context of my original question.

Not a complete failure. Life and death are twins. Both uphold evolution.

Just as body has a age, soul has an age called soul-age. It is divided into usualy 7 categories.Baby soul, child- soul intermediate-soul, mature-soul, and finaly Ripe-soul.
