It is current US policy to put maximum pressure on Syria and my information is that the CIA murdered Rafiq Hariti, thus triggering the Syrian troop-withdrawl from Libanon, implying and sowing the rumour that he was killed by Syria despite the fact that it would not have been in Syria's interest to do such a thing.
