reprocessing

 reactor fuel.

When Gerald Ford assumed the Presidency in August 1974, the current
Vice President of the United States, Richard B Cheney served on the
transition team and later as Deputy Assistant to the President. In
November 1975, he was named Assistant to the President and White

 the Ford Administration.[1]

In August 1974, the current Secretary of Defense, Donald H.

Ford. He then became Chief of Staff of the White House and a member
of the President's Cabinet (1974-1975)[2] and was the Ford

Wolfowitz is considered as a prominent architect of the Bush

capable
of mounting attacks against the United States.

According to Washington Post Staff Writer Dafna Linzer, Ford's
team
endorsed Iranian plans to build a massive nuclear energy industry,
but also worked hard to complete a multibillion-dollar deal that
would have given Tehran control of large quantities of plutonium
and
enriched uranium – the two pathways to a nuclear bomb. Either can
be
shaped into the core of a nuclear warhead, and obtaining one or the
other is generally considered the most significant obstacle to

Obviously, they never did it. I wonder what stopped

Yes, the Shah did get sick and deposed, but was that what
stopped him from perusing this in 76. Did he put the brakes on before his

Said it wrong: 2-3 years (2 actually) after the agreement the Shah
took sick and the Ayatollah took over.

Generally it takes more than 2 years to bring new technology of that
magnitute online in a 3rd world country. And in this case, half-built
is almost worse than useless, so even if construction was well under
way, it wouldn't have mattered until the most important stuff was
installed, which wouldn't be until the last minute.

2006-04-22 Thread Jason Spock

The Shah himself was at the controls and flew the plane to Egypt and then to US. The mad Ayatollah was in exile in Iraq. The moron Shah requested Saddam Hussain to deport Ayatollah and Iraq obliged.Within minutes after Shah took off for Egypt, Ayatollah landed in Tehran and took over. The Peanut farming moron Carter didn't do much help either. I could have sworn the Ayatollah was exiled in France. Perhaps
after spending time in Iraq. And yes I do agree with this time line of the Shah
taking off and the Ayatollah landing very quickly after. Seems I also remember
Carter would not allow the Shah to come to the US and stay. There might
have been some brief period to seek medical help but he definitely couldn't stay
and left for Mexico and than back to Morocco and Egypt as I recall. The Shah had
a difficult time getting a country to accept
him.
