I tend not to hang out with folks who have gotten recertified or who ever believed that pundits were coming, and I’m not too tuned in to those who have and did. I did run into an old friend yesterday who is trying to set up a peace palace in Ames (north of Des Moines – home of Iowa State U.) and has already set up a store in a mall there. I commended her on her dedication.

There were probably a number of instances which were all expressions of
Jerry's growing independence. He was critical of the siddhis, of the ATR
rip-off... He pursued the NJ court case when M told him to drop it. Too bad
he didn't make a clean break. Reportedly, he's still in limbo-land.

Who in the Mvt had authority over Jerry Jarvis at that time? Of course he
ordered it. He has always been directly involved in policies and decisions
much smaller than that one. Even if someone else came up with the idea, he
would have had to approve it. The finance people have never worked
independently of MMY. They go over everything with him and he makes the
decisions. I vaguely remember some meeting in Seelisberg or Vitznau around
that time when it was being discussed in his presence, but I don't remember

And bite they did, until they realized their secrets were being sold, their formulas mass-produced as the most expensive rasayanas on the planet and their therapies were priced for the wealthy, affluent and famous. And it was watered down for the western mindset, things that would offend were removed and it was packaged and sold.

It is interesting but also very
sad.-It is very interesting.  Is it
enslaving?  There's  a good bit of choice involved. Much of it is
moral choice.  MMY appeals to peoples moral choices, as any religious
figure does.  My guess is that many of these, so called, slaves are would
be just as enslaved to their own moral code regardless of their idol. As I did
once, I also put all thought of a larger world out of mind for the sake of peace
of mind. But the larger world just wouldn't quit. Also, I couldn't beat it so I
joined it. And I'm grateful for my choice. When I look back at the Movement I
see myself and my desires, not really much more than that. I did what I wanted
including bleaching and dying my hair red when I came off of THP and totally
blowing their minds. That was a feeling walking into the domes before
superradiance with my hair two tone. Anyone remember that kid?

Triguna-ji has always seemed to be a free agent,
independently working with spiritual movements that
seek his knowledge. I know he's worked with Sri Sri
Ravi Shankar's Art of Living Organization, but he's
not "part off" Art of Living. Don't know anything

I doubt they wanted him to sign a pledge that stated
MMY was his guru. But I'm sure they wanted him to sign
a contract that put him on the short end of a
financial arrangement and also severally restricted or
curtailed any ayurvedic activity outside of the TMO. I
saw Dr. Ladd when he came to Ffld in the mid 80's.
Nice guy.

So you actually believe that Chopra was trained in Ayurveda by
Maharishi? Interesting.

There was actually someone on the list just the other day who kindly
relayed one of the primary reasons Chopra left--which he heard from
Chopra himself at a book signing. If you are familiar with the JAMA
case, and given the fact you seem to live vicariously thru the
movements every machination--I would be surprised if you did not.

It is also fairly well known what happened to Vasant Lad and the
movement. Pretty sick. A friend who trained on the physicians course in
Fairfield told lots of stories about what went on with Chopra. Bottom
line: I'm amazed he didn't leave sooner.

And what happened to Trigunaji and Balraj? They seem most conspicuous
by their absence.

Why does someone who once was with the TMO have to
labeled as pathological when they leave it? In my
encounters with Chopra I found him to be a very decent
guy, far from the egomaniac that some people try to
smear him with. The only person that knows why he left
the TMO is Chopra and he appears to be decent enough
to not bad mouth the TMO or MMY (that's left to us
here on FFL!). People can leave the TMO and MMY, even
stop meditating for perfectly normal, healthy,
non-pathological reasons.

Yeah, but if only 50 people in the US are certified

up**The recert program will fail, without
question, as has almost every effort undertaken by the TMO, because of
poor planning and failure to consult with level-headed consultants outside
of the TM movement as a reality check.I am in favor of things that
work for the TM movement, and the recert program will not. Why? Because
the price of instruction in the USA is too high at $2500/pop, and it makes
far more sense to have part-time teachers when the initiation rate is low
like now, because the teachers are not an economic drain on the TMO. Also,
you get much better coverage of the country with many part-time teachers
than a relative handful of full-timers in big cities (apparently only
about 550 teachers have signed up for the recert program).By
saying that only a few full-time teachers can teach TM, and guaranteeing
(temporarily) a salary of $4K/month, the TMO is committing itself to an
expenditure of $2.2 mil/month (assuming 550 full-time teachers). The TMO
is not publishing current initiation rates, but I suspect it is no more
than 200/month in the USA ; in order to pay the salaries of 550 full-time
teachers, 880 initiations per month would be necessary, and that does not
include the many other costs of running the TM movement. The TMO has
recently sold several properties, which may have brought in ~$30 mil (only
one sale price was disclosed) http://geocities.com/bbrigante/updates.html#sales
, but the burn rate of having full-time teachers in addition to the
expenses associated with the building plans etc of the TMO means that the
money will be gone in less than a year (and possibly there is no money
available at all if the TMO is spending $40mil on the 40-day 100,000
pundit project in India that is being talked about), and all those people
who quit their jobs to be full-time teachers will be back to being
part-timers and looking for a job when the TMO pulls the plug on the
salary. At one hour and 30 minutes into the 23Mar2005 press
conference at mou.org, Maharishi says that it may take centuries for the
pundits to restore Vedic civilization in India. With the flawed policy
making of the TMO, I think that's a real likely figure unless Maharishi
gets some more practical advisers (and as I have noted, these people have
to come from outside the culty environment of the TMO crackpot mgmt
  crew):http://streaming.mou.org/MOU/Mar/wnews_23mar2005prt1_128Bob

Speculation. That's why I said "may have." I don't know anyone's particular
