Due to heavy connection problems, for some day I haven't been able to
read Fedora mailing list, sorry for the wait of this answer.

I just would like to notice that the number 20 in this
fedora10-countdown-banner.svg banner isn't aligned with arriving in ...
 days.

I've newly checked the source of countdown banner and the number seems
to be aligned...please note that for a correct visualization of the
banner SVG file, you must use Inkscape.

There is also not enough space for coming soon text.

The problem is because in other languages this string is wider?
 can't say for sure :/

The difficult of image translation is to adapt the single words to the
banner context. If you need it, I think you can adapt the banner text
size to your language requirements.

If you can generate the image files, then feel free to send a tarball or
put it up somewhere. Otherwise, if you email your translated SVG to
list (don't forget that we'll need 1 day and n days), then somebody
should know how to generate them.

If anybody generates counter images, the preferred filename is:

 Where $n is 1, 2, ..., 21 and $lang is the two-letter language code.

I have a technical comment about the first banner: there is something
wrong with the rounded corners, due to the embedded bitmap. A good way
to solve the problem is to have everything with sharp (not rounded)
corners and then put a rectangle *with* rounded corners on top and apply
a clipping operation.

For the last release we tried to have it one month in advance. Now the
Preview Release will be out 21 days before the final release, so I think
it make sense to run the countdown only *after* the preview is released,
so something like 20 days for the countdown.

Probably is a good idea to have the countdown banner based on the beta
