o F13Blocker-kde [4]

= Summary =

kcm_touchpad in defaults for comps?:

* kcm_touchpad will be added as default in comps (Voting result: 5/0/0)

kde-4.3.85 and kdevplatform/kdevelop4 for kde-redhat? (#549713):

* KDE 4.3.85 is available at kde-unstable repository at kde-redhat.
* A file conflict in kdevplatform has to be sorted out: #541690.

comps: cyrus-sasl-gssapi or maybe as direct requirement for kdepim(kmail):

* JaroslavReznik asked if cyrus-sasl-gssapi could be installed by default to
satisfy kmail with Kerberos.
* ATM cyrus-sasl-gssapi isn't present in comps at all.
* RexDieter will ask other comps-ninja's for advice.

current live image issues:

* SebastianVahl listed some current issues of the KDE live images: [1]
o KDM doesn't autologin (#549687)
o Global shortcut notifications need to be silenced.
o Space on live images is rare as usual (even with no qt3/kdelibs3 on it).
o Autostarted plasmoids are not working (due to missing kdeplasma-addons).

SIGs/KDE/Stability_Proposal: [2]

* Postponed for an upcoming meeting.

== recent bugs ==

kde-plasma-*: yawp, stasks needed rebuilds for 4.3.85, need to test all kde-
plasma-* bits:

* All plasmoids need to be tested with KDE 4.4 (beta) and/or incompatibilities

* At least yawp and stasks need a rebuild to be functional.

nepomuk tracker for kde-4.3.x dup or block ?: [3]

* KDE 4.3 in Fedora doesn't have a working nepomuk backend.
* All open bugs against nepomuk and KDE 4.3 will be closed with an advice to
reopen them if they could be reproduced with KDE 4.4.

F13Blocker-kde:

* RexDieter announced a tracker bug for all KDE related bugs in upcoming
Fedora 13. [4]
* Tracker bugs for Qt-4.6 and KDE 4.4 are also part of this tracker bug.

= Agenda =

*  kde-4.3.4 status
* KDE Rebranding
* multilibbing KCMs, i.e. putting them into the -libs subpackages (KCMs can be
embedded into applications; if embedded into a 32-bit app, the 32-bit KCM is
needed)

= Summary =

KDE 4.3.4 status:

* Update for F-12 will be queued for updates-testing asap. [1]
* LukasTinkl was working on updates for F-11.
* Early adopters could use kde-testing (at kde-redhat) in the meantime.

KDE Rebranding (#547361): [2]

* Since upstream proposed a rebranding we have to adopt the new name at
various places:
 o SPECs (JaroslavReznik, RexDieter, ThanNgo)
 o comps.xml
 o Wiki (JaroslavReznik)
 o Spins page (JaroslavReznik)

multilibbing KCMs:

* KCMs (KDE Configuration Modules, used in System Settings and in the
preferences of some applications) will be moved to the -libs subpackages so
32-bit multilibs will be provided.
* KParts will need a similar treatment.

= Agenda =

* Celebration of F12 going gold
* Status of KDE 4.3.3
* Features for F13

= Summary =

o Topic 1
- notes

o Celebration of Fedora 12 going GOLD:
* The KDE-SIG celebrated the gold status of Fedora 12.
* With Hello Chissini de Castro a new KDE-SIG member was introduced.
* He has been working for Connectiva/Mandriva for over 10 years and is also a
KDE developer for a long time.

o Status of KDE 4.3.3:
* KDE 4.3.3 is imported into CVS for F10 and F11, work on F12 is ongoing.
* (Existing) Extragear for KDE 4.3.3 packages will follow when buildroot is
ready.
* KDE 4.3.3 will be the last update for F10 which will EOL soon.

o Features for F13:
* KDE related features and their owners for Fedora 13:
- phonon/pulseaudio integration (KevinKofler)
- knetworkmanager (RexDieter)
- polkit-1 in KDE (JaroslavReznik)
- Firefox/OpenOffice.org integration in KDE (LukasTinkl)
- Prepare a wiki page outlining KDE features in F13 to work on (LukasTinkl)
[1]

o package splitting:
* SebastianVahl proposed a splitting of KDE packages as a possible Feature for
F13.
* Splits could be done on a per-app basis or a split out of the popular
packages.
* First pros/cons were discussed in the meeting:
- more control over the installed packages (+)
- better support for a minimal runtime for small targets (like netbooks) (+)
- huge increase of metadata to download (--)
- more work for packagers (-)
- more complexity for users (-)
* SebastianVahl will prepare a wiki page with pros/cons and a documentation of
the splitting already done as a basis for further discussions.

* Current status of KSplash theme for Constantine [1]
* This needs to be adapted for KDM theme.

o Status of eigen2:
* eigen2 was downgraded to 2.0.6 in F-12 and all depending packages were
rebuilt and tagged.

o qt-4.5.3: updates, F-12:
* RexDieter asked about the handling of qt-4.5.3 in F-12 (updates-testing vs.
F-12 final).
* 2 issues are known so far:
- Problems with qt-4.5.3 and the qt4 build of Opera.

= Agenda =

* topics to discuss
o F-12 kde spin status
o Tracking ongoing development/projects: please use bugzilla. examples
include: kdm fprint, ooo kde integration, PolKitOne-qt
o qt-4.5.3 builds broken, missing translations
o kde-4.3.2 status
o FUDCon Toronto 2009

* recent bugs:
o qt/selinux

= Summary =

o F-12 kde spin status:
* The x86_64 version of the KDE live images is a bit oversized due to new
constantine-backgrounds package (703 megs).
* phonon-backend-gstreamer will also be added as default in @kde-desktop
(phonon-backend-xine will still be the default used by phonon).
* The live images are affected by a new selinux denial which needs further
investigation: #520022: SELinux is preventing loadkeys (loadkeys_t) write
/home/liveuser/.xsession-errors (user_home_t).

o Tracking ongoing development/projects:

* We've got complaints that we don't fill enough feature pages.
* Features pages for KDE 4.4, PackageKit1-qt, KDE fingerprint and abrt support
will be created for F13.
* This way our cool new features would get the proper attention.

o qt-4.5.3 builds broken, missing translations:

* The qt-4.5.3 builds are broken again.
* ThanNgo will look into that breakage.

o kde-4.3.2 status:
* The rawhide builds for KDE 4.3.2 should be done by today.

o FUDCon Toronto 2009:
* KDE SIG members who will attend: RexDieter, StephenParrish, BenBoeckel.
Maybe: JaroslavReznik.
* Aaron Seigo will be there too (if funding for his costs will be provided).

= Recent bugs =

#527079: setroubleshoot: SELinux is preventing /usr/bin/arora from changing a
writable memory segment executable.
* The JIT disabler patch from Qt 4.5.3 will be backported to F12.

= Agenda =

*  topics to discuss:
o PolicyKit - final decision
o KDE 4.3.1
* recent bugs:
o #520611 koffice-filters requires koffice-kplato

= Summary =

o PolicyKit - final decision:
* After KPackageKit stopped using polkit-qt nothing else uses it.
* Remaining packages that relies on polkit-qt are PyKDE4 and PolicyKit-KDE.
* The (apparently unused) polkit-qt bindings in PyKDE4 will be dropped from
F12+.
* PolicyKit-KDE in kdebase-workspace will be disabled, as PolicyKit 0.9 is
being dropped.
* polkit-qt will be blocked from dist-f12 in time for F12 Beta, as PolicyKit
0.9 is being dropped.
* We will work on bringing in PolicyKit 1 versions and a PolicyKit 1 backend
for kauth for F13 and F12 updates (in time for KDE 4.4).

o KDE 4.3.1:
* ThanNgo is working on adding support for OpenSSL 1.0 in kdelibs.
* LukasTinkl started to work on updates for F11 and F10.
* SebastianVahl will update the extragear packages when LukasTinkl imported
them into CVS.

#520611 - koffice-filters requires koffice-kplato:
* New koffice-filters introduced a dependency on koffice-kplato.
* KevinKofler and RexDieter will try to sort these dependencies out.

= Agenda =

* revisit KDE 4.3 feature page
* get.fedoraproject.org
* KDE 4.3.1
* phonon-backend-gstreamer
* F12 blocker bugs:
#515539 - prelink: process for the fileprotocol / desktop protocol died
unexpectedly
#499968 - port PackageKit-qt to PolicyKit 1.0

= Summary =

o revisit KDE 4.3 feature page:
* In official KDE 4.3 announcement the feature of using Google Calendar in
KOrganizer was promoted. [1]
* But the corresponding googledata package wasn't released as an Extragear
package and only exists in KDE's svn. [2]
* To use the feature someone has to package it for Fedora when a tarball is
released.
* Until then this will be removed from the feature page. [3]

o get.fedoraproject.org:
* Over the weekend there were a large discussion about a new design for
get.fedoraproject.org. [4]
* MáirínDuffy requested our goals for such a design. [5] So we should take
this to the fedora-kde mailinglist.
* Additionally an own subdomain for our KDE spin would be interesting.
* StephenParrish will contact Fedora Board to get a subdomain up.

o KDE 4.3.1:
* KDE 4.3.1 will be tagged on Aug 27. [6]
* ThanNgo will prepare the packages for Rawhide.
* LukasTinkl will take care of the updates for F-11 and F-10.
* SebastianVahl will build the corresponding Extragear packages.

o phonon-backend-gstreamer:
* phonon-backend-gstreamer was added as default phonon backend in Rawhide.
* Until now there were no negative feedback.
* The warning about the default setup (pulseaudio) should be fixed now.

o Must-fix bugs for F12:
* #515539 - prelink: process for the fileprotocol / desktop protocol died
unexpectedly
 - It's still unclear what causes this problems and they will need further
attention.
* #499968 - PolicyKit 1 authentication issues with KPackageKit
 - gnome-authentification-agent could be used with KPackageKit.
 - A new svn release of PackageKit in rawhide should fix the errors
KPackageKit is having.
 - StephenParrish will build a new KPackageKit snapshot which should fix some
of the regressions.

= Agenda =

* add yum-presto to KDE live images as default? (see [1])
* PolicyKit 1 Authentication Agent
* KDE 4.3.0 update status

= Summary =

o yum-presto as default on KDE live images?:
* yum-presto was recently added to the GNOME (a.k.a. Desktop) live images to
be used by default.
* It will also be added to the KDE live images.

o PolicyKit 1 Authentication Agent:
* The Polkit1 Authentification agent is not ready to use with KPackageKit.
* Although PackageKit-qt shouldn't need to be updated (up to RichardHughes)
only a ported KPackageKit is working.
* With the current KPackageKit gnome-authentification-agent is also not
working.
* A newer KPackageKit (with updated method calls) will be released by the end
of the week. With it gnome-authentification-agent should be working.
* But a KDE based authentification agent would still be a good thing.

o KDE 4.3.0 update status:
* The received feedback was quite good so far.
* An updated selinux-policy [2] is needed to be pushed to stable with/before
KDE 4.3.0 to don't fail suspend to ram in enforcing mode. (#516824).
* It also needs to be checked if F-10 is also affected by this.
* Two known regressions are left:
- #516445: Show Dashboard Shortcut (ctrl-f12) doesn't work after upgrade to
kde 4.3.0.
- #518000: suspend/hibernate from menu not working after update to KDE 4.3
* The first one needs a kconf_update script to be written. (plasma binary was
renamed to plasma-desktop).
* Updated extragear packages are already in updates-testing for F-10 and F-11
and will hit Rawhide after the freeze.
* akonadi has become a direct dependency of kdebase-workspace at compile time.
* We'll need to investigate if akonadi is really an optional package and if we
 a) could split the dependency into a subpackage of kdebase-workspace and
 b) disable the requirement for other packages without loosing functionality.

[Fedora-livecd-list] Big size difference in i686 and x86_64 versions of KDE live images

2009-08-13 Thread Sebastian Vahl
Hi,

my KDE live images are showing a big size difference between the i686 and the
x86_64 images (around 40 megs). The slighlty different package list couldn't
explain this (i.e. atlas-sse (i686) vs. atlas (x86_64) is the only important
difference).
So I've compared the sizes of the installed packages (rpm -qa --qf %{name}
{size}\n | sort -nr). Many packages are different in size but the kernel does
have the biggest difference:
i686: 78453688
x86_64: 103736431

A test spin of the GNOME images doesn't show this difference (only 2 megs).

Does anybody has an explanation for this?
Or can somebody try to create a x86_64 version for comparison (with livecd-
creator and spins-kickstarts from git)?

Sebastian

Yes, I normally use -tmpdir to use a partition with enough free space. My /

[Fedora-livecd-list] unbootable rawhide images

2009-07-28 Thread Sebastian Vahl
Hi.

Are there some issues known that current live images with livecd-creator from
git are unbootable atm? With my images I have the problem that the booting
stops after the squashfs message of the kernel (eg. here from VirtualBox:
http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/2016/livecdcreatorrawhidenob.png)

This also affects the Verify and boot option.

There was something which broke things last week, but I fixed it up last
Monday or Tuesday. Haven't heard/noticed anything new. Does your
 rawhide mirror have mkinitrd-6.0.92?

The version was created with mkinitrd-6.0.91-2. So I'll have to wait until the
mass rebuilt has finished and my mirrors are in sync.

Ironically, Fedora says their distribution is more cutting edge and
yet Ibex gets kernel 2.6.27 and we are still stuck with 2.6.26.

I think the KDE-3.5.10 decision demonstrates that Ubuntu developers
are more sensitive to user end needs.

I've not checked it but this seems not to be true:
https://wiki.kubuntu.org/Kubuntu/KDE3-KDE4Migration

Will 8.10 include KDE 3?

8.10 will only include KDE 4 as its desktop. KDE 3 will not be
available. As the code-name suggests, Intrepid is intended as a
deliberately cutting edge release, if you would rather stay with what
you know 8.04 continues to be fully supported. The development team
decided that time and manpower considerations as well as the
probable(possible) lack of further 3.5x releases prevent them from
maintaining 2 separate versions, and KDE 4 was chosen as the version
to move forward with.

I think those are just excuses for a developer community that wants
to do it own thing irregardless of what users actually want.

Believe me, that isn't true either. And as it was said in an earlier
thread (IIRC): Join the KDE-SIG, offer your help, raise your voice, get
participated (in a way you want to or being able to) and you will
finally see this for yourself.

No. I've used the unmodified kickstarts from livecd-tools-017.1-1 for testing.

That's because on the live images the standard keyboard layout is used
when (the english version). So without using this workaround the
localized keyboard (eg. de-latin1-nodeadkeys) won't be used.
At least that's what I've discovered in my tests.

I understand why it needs to be changed, but you're doing so via
/etc/rc.d/init.d/fedora-live instead of just editing the files directly.
I was wondering if this was intentional, as I can not think of a reason.

Sorry, then I've misunderstood you. It was easier to use this script as to
edit the xorg.conf. And I don't wanted to modify the config
in /usr/share/kde-settings/kde-profile/default/share/config/kdeglobals to add
the keyboard layout.

I'm using it for the german version but I've outcommented it for the
template.

This is a FYI: I'm using attached template for my german version of the kde

[Fedora-livecd-list] One big and some smaller issues with current live images

2008-04-10 Thread Sebastian Vahl
Hi.

I just want to ask a few question if these issues are already know or, if not,
worth to bug. I'm quite busy ATM, so I want to ask before do doubled work. :)

First the big one:

Selinux is preventing the live image user to get root privileges. /bin/su
isn't executable for him and liveinst also fails with an unknown error.
If I switch to TTY1 and disable enforcing with setenforce 0 both are
working. So this is likely a SELinux issue.

And the smaller ones happen during the creation of the images:

1. warning: basesystem-8.1-1: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 4f2a6fd2

2. warning: fonts-KOI8-R-100dpi-1.0-10.fc8: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY,
key ID 30c9ecf8

3. Installing: udev #

4. Installing: selinux-policy-targeted #
[607/787]/usr/sbin/semanage: You must specify a prefix
/usr/sbin/semanage: You must specify a prefix

5. This error happens at last, after creating the iso:

Exception exceptions.AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no
attribute 'sysconf' in bound method LiveCDYum.__del__ of

Re: [Fedora-livecd-list] livecd-creator fails on rawhide

2008-03-19 Thread Sebastian Vahl
Please have a look at the error message:

imgcreate.errors.CreatorError: SELinux requested but not enabled on host

You don't have selinux enabled on your host machine but want to create a live
image which has selinux enabled (and the default configs do have it enabled).

Solutions:
a) enable selinux on your host machine (either enforcing or permissive)
b) disable selinux in the kickstart

[Fedora-livecd-list] Boot options for liveins and textinst?

Hi.

The boot options liveinst and textinst are existing quite some time in the

easier access at boot time? Or are they not ready yet?

No. It's much much much more recommended that you actually go into
the desktop environment to start the installation. I only added them
because I was tired of people asking and it was trivial to do. But
the testing they get is nearly none

Ok. Thanks for the explanation. Although it would be a great feature if
usuable.

Fedora 9 and KDE 4.0.0 in distrowatch article

2008-01-15 Thread Sebastian Vahl
A distrowatch article collects some informations about the recently released
KDE 4.0.0. But they seems to be a little bit confused about the different
spins.

http://distrowatch.com/weekly.php?issue=20080114

The Fedora distribution has traditionally been focusing on GNOME as its
preferred desktop environments, but with the increasing community
participation in the project, perhaps we shouldn't be surprised that KDE
4.0.0 is now included in rawhide (Fedora's development branch). Not only
that, it also appears to be the default KDE (KDE 3.5.8 is present as well,
but these packages have been renamed to kdebase3, kdelibs3, etc.). Moreover,
the Fedora community has released an installable Fedora live CD containing a
base system from the latest rawhide + KDE 4.0.0 - a good way to evaluate the
progress Fedora has made since the release of version 8. The live CD is
available for download from here: rawhide-KDE4-i686-20080109.4.iso (694MB,
SHA1).

[Fedora-livecd-list] Unable to exclude firefox

2007-12-12 Thread Sebastian Vahl
Hi.

I'm still unable to don't include firefox on a livecd (although the
xulrunner/firefox conflict is resolved). I'm not even having an idea why it
is included in my local spins. I've explicitely removed it from
livecd-fedora-base-desktop.ks and livecd-fedora-kde.ks (with -firefox) and
it shouldn't be needed by any package (since xulrunner is there). I can
easily remove it on a running livecd (or even with --shell) and rpm is not
complaining about dependencies then.

firefox is installed right aside xulrunner, so I'm assuming it's maybe related
to the provides from firefox (esp. gecko-libs).

I would recommend you to boot your Live CD and then ask to remove
 firefox from the command prompt:

 # yum remove firefox

There should be some cross-dependencies involved with the removal
of firefox. Make sure these packages are excluded from your next
 Live CD iteration.

Please re-read my mail . I've already done that and there are no deps which
are explicitely requireing firefox. ;)

Are you explicitly listing xulrunner in your %packages section? If not
and if there's something depending on an unversioned gecko-libs, then
firefox could well be getting chosen as the shortest provider of
 gecko-libs

No I haven't listed xulrunner (only as -xulrunner) and don't even want this
one (but that's another problem: #420101).

So the next step is maybe: Figure out what is requirering the unversioned
gecko-libs and file a bug against that package?

Mhh. The only package requireing gecko-libs is yelp. But that one has a
versioned require (gecko-libs = 1.9).

So this problem may also be fixed as a side-effect when #420101 is resolved.
But I'm still wondering why firefox is pulled in?

[Fedora-livecd-list] two errors in liveinst

2007-12-07 Thread Sebastian Vahl
Just to say this first: Due to the current openssl rebuild marathon this
problems maybe already fixed. My used anaconda version was
anaconda-11.4.0.4-2. The second thing is that I'm trying this from one of my
first version of my kde4-livecd tries. So maybe the error lies elsewhere.

But to go ahead: I get this error message when starting liveinst directly
from command line:

  The error here is:

Yeah, this is a package bug in the current versions. I've thrown
something at caillon as it's been going on for a while too long. One
solution would be to exclude the rawhide xulrunner and stick a previous
 version (xulrunner-1.9-0.beta1.1.fc9) in another repo.

Perhaps another package is pulling in one of them? Is there a way to get
livecd-creator more verbose so that I'm seeing why it tries to install
  one of them?

`repoquery --whatrequires --alldeps xulrunner` will show you what
 requires xulrunner

Ah. Missed the alldeps switch. thx. But even if I try to remove all of the
listed packages the conflict still happens. And I don't want either xulrunner
nor firefox on the livecd.
Or is this maybe somehow related to the way livecd-creator checks the
dependencies? Maybe because the defined packages are removed _after_ the
check?

I will try it with a modified local repo. But IMHO the best way get it work
with the mirrors.

The KDE-SIG needs (your) help

2007-10-29 Thread Sebastian Vahl
This is a request for participation:
The KDE-SIG [1] is atm lacking active contributors. And we really need some
help in doing our job to provide a good KDE version in Fedora - especially
with the upcoming KDE 4.0 and the inclusion in Fedora 9.

If you don't know how you could help us here is a list (which is also in the
wiki):

* Packagers: There are so many interesting packages that are not yet packaged
for Fedora. Package it to improve the user experience.

* Reviewers: Only a few persons are doing the kde-related reviews. Help us
reviewing so that more packages could be included.

* Testers: If you love KDE use the development version or the updates-testing
repository and report bugs, bugs, bugs, request enhancements or features. We
need your feedback to improve KDE.

* Bugs: Become a BugZapper and help us with kde-related bugs.

* Documentation writers: The documentation (esp. the DesktopUserGuide) is
GNOME-centered. Help us to provide an equivalent for KDE.

* Release Notes: The few people that are working on the new KDE-Spin are quite
busy with development issues. If you want to help us in writing the release
notes for the next version of Fedora we would give you all the info you need.

* Wiki: Maintain http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/KDE and keep it updated with
end user information.

* Artists: To provide a matching theme for nodoka-metacity-theme and provide
an unified desktop experience.

But this is not a complete list. If you're interested in making KDE in Fedora
better, you're more than welcome.

The list of participants in the wiki is atm not a list of active contributors.
When setting up the wiki the only demand was an interest in KDE to be listed
on this page. This list would be changed in the future to be culled down to
the list of active (or reactivated) participants. This has become necessarely
because there are only (less or more) 3 active contributors atm (plus Than
Ngo). But the list indicates that there are enough people helping with KDE.

If you are interested in joining the KDE-SIG please add your name to this
list, answer to this mail, join us in #fedora-kde at freenode or attend the
weekly KDE-SIG-Meetings (every tuesday 17:00 UTC). I will also add a topic to
the agenda of the meeting next week to introduce new contributors. [2]
The attendance at the SIG-Meetings is of course not required. But this way we
would know of each other. And they are also the main place of discussing the
next steps in the development (besides fedora-devel-list).

If you have any further questions please answer to this mail or write me
directly. And be sure: If your are willing to help you're welcome (regardless
of your skills). :)

Sebastian

[Fedora-livecd-list] unbootable Isos with newest git

Hi.

With the actual git version the produced livecds aren't bootable. In vmware it
shows this:

Loading vmlinuz
Loading initrd.img
Ready.
Booting: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP

After this it automatically reboots. Virtualbox or qemu are hanging at this
point. I've not testet a burned iso directly.

Any suggestions?

[Fedora-livecd-list] No /home/fedora/.bashrc with selinux=1

2007-09-06 Thread Sebastian Vahl
Hi.

I've noticed a little problem when booting with selinux
enabled: /home/fedora/.bashrc would not be copied/created. When booting
with enforcing=0 all would be fine so I assume this is a selinux
problem. But I've found no entry in /var/log/messages
or /var/log/audit/audit.log.

When I create a new user with adduser the bashrc is there.

Any suggestion how to debug this? I've attached audit.log and messages
if I've overlooked something (booted with selinux=1).

The latest rawhide version I got here locally is yum-3.2.2-3.fc8 and
yum-metadata-parser-1.1.0-2.fc7. With them all is working fine.

Is this a problem with livecd-tools? If so I will file a bug against it.

[Fedora-livecd-list] Some problems: rootpassword and liveinst

2007-08-28 Thread Sebastian Vahl
Hi.

My actual spin of the kde livecd from today has some problems:

1. It seems that the root password wasn't erased. If I boot the iso in
vmware I got the error in the attached screenshot. If I boot the iso
with enforcing=0 all is working. Is this a problem on my local machine
(if relabeld the whole filesystem before I tested this)?

2. Because of 1. I've bootet with enforcing=0. If I then want to start
liveinst I get this traceback:

 [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# liveinst
 FATAL: Module md not found.
 Traceback (most recent call last):

Any suggestions or more info needed?

This is just a warning, but I will be updating the configs in .git
later for this. With this change in pykickstart, you can now %include
fedora-base-desktop.ks and then still be able to change things in the
base kickstart commands section. Which gives us pretty complete
 config inheritance support.

Great news! (I've thought about to question this as a feature
request :) )

This is a yum bug I fixed upstream on Friday, but Seth and I then
 miscoordinated a little. I've just built yum-3.2.3-3.fc8 into koji[1]

With this one all is working as expected. Thanks!

[Fedora-livecd-list] How to remove groups in second config?

2007-08-16 Thread Sebastian Vahl
Hi.

(This is for the new changes to livecd-creator from git which uses two
kickstarts.)

Is there a way to remove a group which is defined in the first config (here
livecd-config-base-desktop.ks) in the second config (here
livecd-fedora-kde.ks)?
My problem is that the language groups (e.g. @estonian-support) pulls also the
kde language files (kde-i18n-Estonian) and koffice language files
(koffice-langpack-et) in the livecd. And I am not able to remove them in the
second config (e.g. -kde-18n-* or -kde-i18n-et).

Any hint how to fix this? The language files are about 325 megs and that's to
big for the cd.

There's not really syntax for removing groups at present. Given the
things causing you problems, you could just do
   -kde-i18n*
   -koffice-langpack*
like has been done in the past for a few things.

I don't know why but this is not working. I could remove eg. gnome-games but
kde-i18n-* and koffice-langpack-* would anyway be installed.

Alternately, we could move the lang-support groups into desktop instead
 of -base-desktop

ATM I would think that's the best option.

You don't have to sync the whole repo. You can have an empty repo

FlyingHigh for ksplash-engine-moodin

2007-03-25 Thread Sebastian Vahl
Hi.

I've made three splashs for ksplash-engine-moodin. I'am not an artist so some
thinks could be done better. If someone would enhance this ones, feel free to
pick them up. :)

For the ones with icons: I've tried to use the same icons like in normal echo
splash. But I haven't found the fifth one in the wiki. The last one is the
normal fedora logo
from /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/fedora-logo-icon.png.
