(at least, last time I've tried). (then jogl used by openjdk will be the next step) soname is stand for Shared Object NAME, aka the internal name of the library which is defined at link time. usually readelf -a any_system_library.so.x |grep SONAME will show you the one used to recognize the library. Why can a plain user not replay his own logs? == replay man page missing == some useful functions are still missing in replay such as find. I would rather see / as find symbol, rather then f (try to follow vi syntax) * It is rather confusing to see sometimes slogger and then sslogger and then sl e.g. in config.h: #define SLOGGER sslogger * The -h option is not respected: $ sl -h [sudo] password for gdha: $ sslogger -h Sloggerd started, file is /var/log/sl/2009/05/sl-fed-gdha-gdha-2009.05.27-10:04:37.log Reason for invoking thus interactive shell for gdha: * Found lots of spelling errors in source files and in the man page * why not combining the -u option in sslogger itself? Why using sl for that purpose? * The sl.log file contains not enough information where the log file itself is stored: # cat /var/log/sl/sl.log 2009-05-27 09:24:39 sslogger[30880]; user:gdha; as:root; invoked_shell:/bin/bash; logfile:sl-fed-gdha-root-2009.05.27-09:24:31.log; reason:test sslogger Actual location is: /var/log/sl/2009/05/sl-fed-gdha-root-2009.05.27-09:24:31.log To use replay (or cat) it would be better to log the full path of the log file. * why do I read in the log file Sloggerd started - it should read sslogger started # ps ax|grep ssl 31720 pts/2S+ 0:00 sslogger 31721 pts/2S+ 0:00 sslogger -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Fedora-package-review mailing list Fedora-package-review@redhat.com http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-package-review

Sorry about the slip-ups, this is the first time I played around with autotools and have learned a lot in the process. Well, if you're going to use a shared library here, you should do it properly, as a versioned .so, with proper packaging. libWN_la_LDFLAGS = -version-number 3:0:0 will give you what you want, although, you might talk to upstream to be sure they're okay with the .so numbering starting there. I did mail upstream about this but got no response back. I also checked other distributions (ubuntu and mandriva) and they seem to be using version 3.x.x for the .so ...so, i went with that. Don't forget to delete the .la and .a file, your -devel wildcard is catching them. This might need some further investigation. I thought too that ar was just a simple archiver. But I fixed this anyway. Another issue I noticed in the .spec file is this: if a2dll libboost_thread-mt.lib libboost_thread-mt -lpthreadGC2; then As of mingw32-pthreads-2.8.0-8{.fc11,.fc12} it isn't necessary to use '-lpthreadGC2' anymore. It should be sufficient to use just '-lpthread' here. I've seen you made the change too, but it seems it hasn't propagated yet to my mirror. Anyway, I would like to keep it that way for some time until your change has fully propagated... For the link errors in the testsuite libraries. I might have found out a way to get it operational as shared libraries. Would it be possible to add a main() function to those testsuite libraries which looks something like this: Sure, if you write your own dynamic linker :) Seriously though, this is quite a lot of work to implement, I won't have time to do this in the next couple of weeks. I recommend using python and rm (in the other hand, you can use %{__python} and %{__rm}). * screenlets-manager /dev/null doesn't work. You don't have to redirect stdout, it goes automatically to .xsession-errors on a graphic sessions. A simple Exec=screenlets-manager in screenlets-manager.desktop does the job. * You can join all the %{_bindir}/screenlets-whatever in %{_bindir}/* * The directory %{_datadir}/icons/ for screenlets.svg seems wrong to me. In my system is the only icon present there. I suggest /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps and add Requires: hicolor-icon-theme * You must update the icon cache after installing screenlets.svg. What they do not do is explain how you've mitigated the problems with bundling libraries: 1) Bundling libraries means that whenever a security issue comes up in a library we have to first find the applications that bundle those libraries, then fix the version in that application (which could be an older version or forked from mainline and so not just a matter of applying an update). 2) We have to audit the code to find out if there are licensing issues. With just a quick look at the code, I've found that: * includes/captcha/engine_failsafe.php: is GPL (v2 only) (so Enano as a whole would need to be GPLv2 only, not GPLv2 or later.) * includes/clientside/admin-menu.js: the Tigra Tree Menu should be looked at by spot/FSF. The term header needs to be clarified and we need to know if this usage is in compliance. * includes/wikiengine/Render/Plain/Prefilter.php: is licensed under the PHP license v2.0 which is GPL incompatible. So it's use with Enano might not be okay. * includes/graphs.php: is licensed under the PHP license v3.01 whichisGPL incompatible. Once again, this might not be okay. * includes/graphs.php also has this sketchy bit of text: // Graph Generator for PHP // Originally located at http://szewo.com/php/graph, but link was broken, so this file was retrieved from: // http://web.archive.org/web/20030130065944/szewo.com/php/graph/graph.class.php3.txt // License unknown, however sources on the web have shown this to be either GPL or public domain. If the link is broken and the license is unknown, what leads you to think that the code is public domain? At best some citation is missing. At worst, this has to be removed/remaining pieces will need to be rewritten for Enano. * There are many files that reference external files for the details of their license information, for example GPL-LICENSE.txt Remember, this wasn't an exhaustive search -- it was only a series of quick greps to look for especially problematic files. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Fedora-package-review mailing list Fedora-package-review@redhat.com http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-package-review

The licensing guideline says If neither the source, nor the upstream composed documentation says anything about the license version, then it could be under _ANY_ version of the GPL. The version listed in COPYING is irrelevant from this perspective. Technically it could be under any license, but if all we have to go by is COPYING, we'll use COPYING to imply that it is under the GPL, all versions (GPL+). That's why I used GPL+. Please see case #4 at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Licensing/FAQ I already asked Hermann to include the GPL version in the source headers a while ago (around guitarix-0.04-2) but he didn't do it.
