Kerry and Bandy

2006-05-04 Thread wendy
Kerry,

How is Bandy today? I am sorry to hear that his eyes
are having trouble. Did you take him to that
specialist in Carrollton? Smookie is having trouble
too. Please keep us posted on what the vet says and
I'll keep Bandy in my prayers.

:)

Hi Wendy, Sorry I haven't answered this as I haven't had a chance to even get on the computer.. Bandy's seems to be able to see a little now...the doctor upped his eye meds, but didn't give us much hope...we go back on Thurs for a re-check..It takes us a little over 2 hrs to get there...It is the Animal Opthamology Clinic located off Trinity Mills and the toll road..It is in the Veterinary Referral Center of North Texas...same place his internal med doctor is located...Have you ever been there?    Anyway, I guess the ringworm is getting better on BAndy and Inky...I am having a terrible time with Inky's as he won't quit scratching it...and he keeps it all bleeding.. I will let you know what they say on Thurs.. Kerry, Bandy and Inky and Angels Buster, Lil Rascal and Snoopy

Kerry, I really do highly recommend the soft paws claw covers. At least
temporarily, so he doesn't make himself bleed! I did it to Mythic when he was
digging holes in himself, it helps a LOT! makes them mad, but helps...

I HIGHLY recommend Soft Claws too!  I've been
using them for years for a variety of reasons.  If you're not comfortable
putting them on yourself, many vets and groomers will do it for a small fee and
it's well worth it.

Good luck to you sweetie!

Hey Kerry,

I have not been to that clinic but a vet told me about
it when I brought Smookie in regarding her eye. We're
still fighting the ulcer. I take her in today to get
looked at by another vet and if he can't get that
white spot to go away, we'll be visiting the clinic in
a week or so. I'm so glad to hear that Bandy can see
some and hopefully that will continue to improve. I
hate ringworm. It's a nasty fungus!!! I hope you get
good news Thursday. Keep me posted!

:)

For Kerry and Bandy

2006-07-03 Thread Lernermichelle

Below is a link to an herb mix from Robert MacDowell that might help Bandy.
I found his formulas incredibly helpful (surprisingly so) for my dog Fern when
she had cancer (though she was on lots of things and I can not attribute it to
his herbs, she lives three times longer than her maximum prognosis) and for my
own endometriosis (it is the only thing besides precription medicine that has
lessened the pain).  He just started making formulas for cats, though, and
I do not know how much he has studied cat anatomy and drug reactions. This
formula has White Willow in it, which is the plant that aspirin is derived from,
and aspiring in anything but very small doses can kill cats. I assume that using
a few drops of a tincture derived from the whole plant is probably ok (a baby
aspiring every few days is also ok), but if you decide you are interested in
this, I would email him to ask him specifically about this issue.

Re: For Kerry and Bandy

2006-07-04 Thread Kerry Roach
Michelle, I will look at that to see if it might help him...I do think it could be arthritis of some kind...cause it is in the other leg today...front only..he seems to be giving to it some and not getting out of his box hardly at all..He is eating though so that is a good thing, but not drinking enough...so I hope he doesn't get dehydrated again...I gave him a pain pill little while ago...I am considering 1/4 baby aspirin, too if he isn't some what relieved by the pain pill...I think he needs some anti-inflammatory meds...I do have some kitty MSM...with some other things in it...you give 1 daily in food... I think I may have to take him back to Dallas to his internal med spec cause I think they are the only ones that can really find  out what is going on here...My vet did mention a couple of weeks ago multiple myeloma...but the xrays didn't show anything...I don't think that is it either, or I sure hope not. I don't know if he
was checked for calici or not..I will mention it as I think I am going to take him to the vet on Wed..since he has an eye appt. in Dallas on Thurs...and that is a 7 hr round trip...I don't want to take him unless he feels better...so I would feel better if she sees him here before we try to make that trip..and maybe he could get a dex injection which always seems to make him feel better...Seems that when that wears off, he gets down again even though this time, he went over 2 wks without a fever... It is driving me crazy though...he has been feeling so good and walking around since he got over this last episode which was a bad one...now I really just don't know what to think.. Anyway, thanks for the info and I will check it all out asap.. Hope Lucy is doing better, Kerry and Bandy
