Re: OT Cat Peeing on Bed
Hi Karolyn, I think you may have jinxed us! The same night you posted this, Bruce climbed into bed and jumped right out again! We suspect our Queen Diva, Ursula. Anyway, perhaps your the little guy, (what's his name?), is feeling uncertain about his rank in the household and is claiming your bed as, if not his territory, a place where he belongs. Since you've gone to all the trouble of plastic shower curtains, I thought you might not mind going one step further and put a large litter box on your bed. Since he uses a litter box, maybe he'd prefer to use one on the bed too. I'm hoping you can get him used to using the litter box on the bed and then move it to the floor right next to the bed, then near the door, out into the hall, etc. In the meantime, shower him with lots of love and attention, (crazy isn't it?), if he's insecure at all, it might help him gain some confidence. Marylyn suggested Feliway and RR. You can put a few drops of RR into the communal water dish as well. There's another flower essence that I read about, I think it's called emergency essence, that was recommended for use with ferals to help them calm down and not be so fearful. Maybe this would work better. I'm trying to remember where I read about it. I'll look around and see if I can find it, it wouldn't hurt to keep it on hand in this household as well! He had not been out there to long because he was in very good shape, I soon discovered why he had been dumped in the park. Several times each day he would pee on my bed. And YES he also used the litter box. I could not close the door to the bedroom as I have only one bedroom and three other cats I learned that a shower curtain was the right size to cover a queen size bed. First I put down a cloth shower curtain. He peed on that for a couple of days. About 5% went thru the curtain. Then I put a plastic liner under the cloth one and I have had a dry bed ever since.

Re: OT Cat Peeing on Bed
No, I do use RR. There's another one. I came across it on a feral cat website and hadn't heard of it before, (that's not really saying much, I'm not that familiar with flower essences). I'll look for it when I get the chance and pass on what I find. OT Cat Peeing on Bed
I live on the edge of a park and last Aug. I rescued a 4 mo. old kitten. He had not been out there to long because he was in very good shape, I soon discovered why he had been dumped in the park. Several times each day he would pee on my bed. And YES he also used the litter box. RE: OT Cat Peeing on Bed
Having discovered the shower curtain solution recently when my Tucson flipped out for a bit decided my bed looked like a good place to pee--who know why--I looked at my shower curtain covered bed and said to myself 'who lives better than us' Chris [EMAIL PROTECTED] -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Karolyn Lount Sent: Tuesday, March 14, 2006 4:18 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; felvtalk@felineleukemia.org; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; lynne; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: OT Cat Peeing on Bed I live on the edge of a park and last Aug. Re: OT Cat Peeing on Bed
Try spraying the bed with Feliway. And give the little guy some Rescue Remedy. If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow man.
