Adding baking soda to the bags helps with the odor too. If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow man. I do the same thing with my used litter, then tie the bag shut, cut the handles & put them in a commercial dumpster near where I feed my ferals. I wonder if it's not better to NOT let the lid come off completely but leave it attached & when the can i s empty, push the lid closed again, in such a way that the lid is held down under the brim o f the can.
