Re: Technical issues with FeLV/does anyone know the moderatorpersonally?
Hi James! Nice to hear from you it's been awhile. Glad your doing okay with your health. I hope you continue to thrive well. Always look forward hearing from you anyway! I have been on this group since 2001 I believe. I have seen a lot come and go but will stay on this group for how ever long because you never know. There are some good and loving people on this group. I know there are some of us that lurk and read the postings. But we are still here. Information to this group is vital whether it is Felv or not. Majority has something to do with cat illnesses anyway. I can honestly say this is a great support group as well. I'm not bother by the off the subject questions or comments. At times we need to ask or even vent some. Those of you that remember I said in the past when the day comes for the cure for Felv I will celebrate by eating cheesecake when we meet. (I can't stand cheesecake) Will eat it for joy and for my Taz. In a message dated 7/12/2007 8:44:09 P.M. It's not bad, but it's not good either. When there are problems between list members, I tend to wait and let folks work it out for themselves (unless it turns into a flame war, of course). And, over the nearly ten years of running this list, I've only had to ban five people for continuing to cause trouble. This is a good list with good folk who are trying to care for their FeLV+ cats. There maybe differences of opinion on certain topics, but as long as everyone is respectful of others' opinions, all is well. Wendy, as to the problem with your Yahoo account, I'm not sure what to say other than Yahoo has had a lot of problems lately. They are testing various methods of SPAM control, so we are an occasional casualty. Also, I didn't receive your previous emails asking for assistance because the felvtalk-owner account is deluged with SPAM (several hundred per day now). RE: Technical issues with FeLV/does anyone know the moderatorpersonally?
I honestly think that the OT list is not hard to follow in addition to this one. My only problem is that I need to switch the OT list to my work address instead of home since I'm seldom available at home anymore. There really aren't very many posts on the OT lists besides the regular information regarding kitties that are about to be gassed (so sad!). The only problem I have with the OT list is that frequently no one responds to my OT posts! I must be either mega-boring or there's just not enough people to respond. Phaewryn does a good job of answering my kitty health questions that aren't FeLV, but other stuff gets ignored. So much for chit chat. Seems everyone is very busy in the summer anyway. I've got some things I'd like to bring up, but I'm going to wait and do it on the OT list even though there aren't as many people there. I want to respect the FeLV nature of this group. I wouldn't feel so bad straying off topic if I actually still had an FeLV kitty, but all the ones I've got now are FeLV negative. Hi All, I don't post much anymore, but I do continue to read your posts I have been keeping your fur-babies in my prayers. I have been on the list for a long time while I don't know James *personally*, I do know that attachements are usually a no-no as well as posts that are very long. I've also heard from several co-workers friends that have upgraded to Vista and most of them regret it - way to many problems involved, but I don't know if that would have any impact the list mail, just your own personal computer. Also, some people seem to get the list emails snagged by their spam filters. Adding felvtalk@felineleukemia.org to your favorites list seems to help alleviate this filtering. In Dec 2005, Jenn/Phaewryn created the OT list so that this one could be mostly just FeLV information discussions, which is what new-comers are searching for when they find us. This is what her original post said: OT list created. Yes, I've been wondering how James is too. I picked up from the little he said that his health wasn't good. It *is* a long time since I've seen a posting from him. He's such a lovely guy, I hope he's ok. Thanks, Kat - I hadn't kept up with what folks are calling the OT list - so appreciate the update/reminder. Also the info on James - I like to remind people to be gentle with folks in email communications - because you never know what's going on with someone, you just get typed messages. I'd wondered about James, and hope and pray he hangs in there and his health improves - we used to hear more from him, a few years ago - thanks so much for that info.
