Re: AOL belittles Internet advocates
i think this is a good idea Since we are a democratic group, I think we need people to generally agree. And we probably need the list owner, James, to ok it. Then I think one of us just does it, via the links in the first alert I forwarded. I would be willing to do it on behalf of the group, but I need the group and James to approve it first. So I guess if anyone thinks it is a good or bad idea, please say so. Michelle In a message dated 3/2/2006 8:48:42 P.M. Thanks, but should we add our group's name to the letter from organizations? Michelle In a message dated 3/2/2006 8:41:54 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: Just signed it!
Re: AOL belittles Internet advocates
Individuals can sign (follow the directions in the email, I think), but what they are really looking for is for organizations that use mass emails to sign. That's why I was asking whether we want this group-- as a group-- to sign it. Because if they do this, it will directly interfere with our group being accessible to people with AOL. I am not sure how many of us that is, but I would assume it is a lot of us. And it would be hard for people with AOL to sign up. Michelle In a message dated 3/2/2006 8:32:19 P.M. If AOL does this, our group's emails will not get through to any AOL subscribers (including me-- though I will change my internet provider if they do this, but it would be a huge pain since I have had this address a long time and lots of people have it, including professional contacts).
