Re: [Finale] (OT) ... I Pod question
Macsales.com offers little kits (with a tool tool to open the iPod) for fairly cheap. Most apple stores won't offer much help unless you bought AppleCare on the iPod and it's still covered under it. Otherwise, macsales.com is your best bet. To, this sounds like the mouse is out of sync with the screen in some strange way (although I haven't heard of anyone having this problem before)? Does it happen in any view (Page/Scroll/Studio) in Finale? Any zoom %? In Page View, at any Pave View Style? Hi Dean, All batteries wear out over time. If you live near an Apple Store, you can probably take your iPod in for a battery replacement, but you are almost certainly better off buying a new device. [Finale] (OT) ... I Pod question
So, I've had my iPod for quite a while now as of late, it doesn't seem to hold a charge for very long does the battery wear out in your experience ... if so, does one replace it somehow, or (and I fear to read the responses to this), does one have to buy a new one? Thanks for responses in advance ... Using my Win7-Home 64bit HP computer with 4GB of ram, I have no problems at all using the metatools in Fin2012. I don't think that Finale metatools would be looked on by your operating system as Macros, such as might be blocked by a security program. I think that WinXP is simply too old for these newer tools. Or it might be simply that your processor is too slow or you don't have enough RAM for handling the higher demands of the newer versions of Finale. There isn't a Windows equivalent of the Mac Preferences files that could be trashed and then be rebuilt by the OS. -- David H. [Finale] Continuing Metatool Problems
I continue to have problems getting metatools--specifically articulation metatools--to work. In past projects these have worked perfectly, but suddenly now they won't work. Each metatool seems to program just fine, but when I try to use them they rarely work. For example, I like to use numbers 1-5 for piano fingering numbers, but have to click on a note many, many times to get an occasional fingering number to appear. Often, the number I'm attempting to enter changes a previous finger number (that finally worked) instead of the note I'm actually clicking. Today, I upgraded to Finale 2012 for Windows XP2 on my Dell Latitude D830 laptop, and still no luck in getting the metatools to work more than occasionally. Very frustrating. Could it be a hardware problem? A memory problem? Windows XP blocking macros? My security programs blocking macros (Sophus, CC Cleaner, SuperAntiSpyware, MalwareBytes AntiMalware)? I've read advice to Mac users that they can discard a corrupt preferences file to sometimes correct this bug. What takes the place of the Mac Preferences file in Windows machines? I'd so much appreciate help with this. Sincerely, Patricia Spedden ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
