I haven't actually tried this, so I don't know whether it works, but isn't this problem theoretically solved by selecting the "Use Finale's Page Orientation instead of printer's Page Orientation" option? [Finale] 2012 not working PC & MAC - SOLVED
There was a problem with GARRITAN INSTANT ORCHESTRA. Now both work. The COMB2 is still not working on MAC. I suspect a bad CML file. Hi Robert, This is an annoyance up with which we have put as long as I can remember, and I don't think there's a way around it. Raymond answered a different question. It's the printing that requires the change, not the creation of the different sizes within Finale, and I have long wondered why MM doesn't automate this interruption of the printing process. Perhaps there are some conditions in which the Finale page size and the printer set up should not match, but I can't think of why that should be. Personal note: I know you are going to be losing Susanna and Barry and will be likely to miss them, but I also know that the move will be good for them (and that they will miss their friends in Memphis). In FinWin 2011: Under "Document / Page Format" one can choose different page formats for score and parts. You will then have to "Manage parts / Generate Parts" to see the difference. Actually my legacy files (which use Smartsynth) play back fine in Fin12. I am not picky about playback, and if it were up to me Makemusic would not have expended one minute improving playback beyond Smartsynth (because it has been at the expense of so much that I do care about). Doubtless many of you and others do not agree. Haha. Still, I would like to hear a difference between pizz and arco, and if after enduring 5 cycles of what (for my purposes) are predominately useless upgrades they have made it more difficult to achieve, I really do have to wonder about their priorities. The main thing that has prompted me to upgrade to Fin12 (from Fin08) is the Unicode support, which I must admit is fantástico. (And of course there are some other changes that I like.)
