I am on Mac, but I would assume Windows has similar options for choosing font 
interpretation settings. Long since I set up my system, but there are various 
ISO and various national systems. Myself operating in Danish, German, and 
English only one system works and oddities happen, if I choose a different one. 

Could your original setting at this root level have gone corrupted?

Okay, will do.

If I click on any element, the droplist is the correct size, but I can't have
any overview of what's there.

I have my WinXP set to 'classic' borders and headers with my own color choices.

One of my other musical friends was depending on IMSLP for the orchestra parts 
for a Vivaldi concerto he is touring, and he reported it down as well. Strange.

It seems to work okay so far, but the instrument list (now moved to the score
