[Finale] Very, very old files
I've been resuscitating some 20+ year-old Finale files. Unless I open them in 2012 and immediately convert them into MusicXML 3.0 they cannot be reliably be dealt with. I must assume the same in 2014. I have had some difficulty bringing older files into 2014, but nothing totally insurmountable. I think repeats and a few other things didn't work. I'll try the 2012 to XML see how it works. While one can OPEN old files in 2012/2014, they are often not easily copy/pasted into a new document. In my case none of the RESTS came over;-( However, the MusicXML export/import does allow the transfer/updating into 2012/2014 effortlessly.
