Re: [Finale] PDF EXPORT missing fonts
I have used CutePDF for years. Re: [Finale] PDF EXPORT missing fonts
I second Lee's recommendation for Bullzip as your new, free pdf maker. I've always found the default pdf programs from Finale, Microsoft, and other add-ons to random software to be buggy. I've tried other free programs, yet Bullzip remains the cleanest, easiest one to use. Douglas Brown - Lee Actor: Possibly the fonts aren't recognized by Windows, though Finale can obviously access them; check Control Panel->Appearance and Personalization->Fonts to see if they are listed; if not, you could try installing them from the File menu. You should be aware that the pdf export feature in WinFin2012c has a bug that generates extraneous characters, usually at the bottom of pages containing triplets. I reported this bug to Makemusic in Nov. 2013; it's a known bug in the 3rd party pdf export engine they use, and to the best of my knowledge it has not been fixed in Fin2014 to date. You might consider using one of the many available "pdf printer" products, which install as a printer driver and enable pdfs to be produced from any application which can print. I've tried many of them, and my current favorite is Bullzip (http://bullzip.com/products/pdf/info.php). It's fast, full-featured, produces very small file sizes, and is solid as a rock. Even better, it's free for individual use. One other thing: the Finale pdf export, in addition to being buggy, produces files 5-6x bigger than any other pdf tool I've used. ___ Lee Actor Composer-in-Residence and Assistant Conductor, Palo Alto Philharmonic http://www.leeactor.com -Original Message- From: finale-boun...@shsu.edu [mailto:finale-boun...@shsu.edu] On Behalf Of dr.a.s. weinstangel Sent: Monday, October 19, 2015 5:37 PM To: finale@shsu.edu Subject: [Finale] PDF EXPORT missing fonts O the Knowledgeable ones! There's a box to tick, bottom right, after setting the spacing: "Set to scroll view spacing". Simple! I'd love to find a way to set that as my default, but haven't managed that yet. Finale 2014 annoys me pretty much on a daily basis still, after months of use. I expect quite a lot of my frustrations stem from importing sometimes very old files, but I particularly dislike having Finale dictate where expressions get attached to. I just want to position them to suit my personal style.
