[Finale] "back-curve" slur thickness (repost)

2017-04-28 Thread Dennis Bathory-Kitsz
Reposting this as I saw no responses and wondered if it was missed, or there
wasn't any way to accomplish slurs that didn't thin in the middle when they
curved backwards.

Hi all,

Finale 2014.5 Windows.

A client wants the 'backwards curve' of a slur also to increase in thickness,
as if it were continuing forward. Finale shrinks the thickness of the slur as
it moves backwards.

There doesn't seem to be a way to change this in the dialog.

Also, the number of control points has remained the same, and this client
would like flat slurs. Has Finale 25 improved this?

Thanks!

Dennis

[Finale] Darcy James Argue's "Transit" in performance!

2017-04-28 Thread Raymond Horton
Imagine my surprise! I had not looked closely at the program of the
Louisville Orchestra concert I attended this morning, and all of a sudden
the Orchestra formed in a big band formation and conductor Teddy Abrams
started talking about our good list friend Darcy James Argue, and his piece
"Transit" that we were about to hear.

Very good piece, very well played, and extremely well-received by the
audience, (which tends to be, well, old - we always called it the Blue Hair
concert when I was in the orchestra.)
